I am unhappy with the direction of this thread.

I very, very strongly suggest that it change.

Tea. good point, that blizzard was horrible.

Last year would've added 1500-2000 more NDSU fans, now of course without woody and company, the average NDSU fan might not drive down, but by god, show us a banana belt!!
I'm looking forward to Sioux Falls hosting the tourney. I had a great time despite the weather issues.
Weather was crappy last year......that just means it will be great this year. Bring your clubs!

Exactly. If Hitchcock had 40,000 more residents than Fargo-Moorhead.

You are including the Canadian Students who do their spring break in Fargo, and also do a little sand bagging if called upon. What is funnier yet was some gentlemen called KFGO, Joel Hietkamp show, and suggested that a dam be built on the Red River north of Fargo in order to keep the flood away from Fargo. The problem is that the Red flows north. . Was that you doing the calling Lakesbison?

    1. You wouldn't have known Hitchcock from Nocock as wasted as you were for 4 days.

    2. Since NDSU enrollment is around 13,000 are you including dudes as part of your 'hot co-eds'?

Whoops....got a little smackish there for a moment.

    Answer to thread question: Yes

Oh please. So every student attending NDSU is "hot". C'mon man, I used to live up there. Like everywhere, you have your babes, but don't make Fargo North Dakota out to be Malibu. This past Friday I was out at a certain Sioux Falls sportsbar on Louise to watch a young band play and there were more fine females than you would know what to do with.

    Sioux Falls - Hitchcock

    Fargo - Miami Beach

    Ha!

I am shocked sitting here in Sioux Falls we have none of the things you listed!

Money wins out.... if its close Sioux Falls will continue to win the bid but if its not they will loose it. I personally believe that short term nobody will be able to compete with Sioux Falls. But I also know a little about how arena's work. they want to book there venue as much as they can.... look at WWE and the Pepsi center.... The Summit League tournament will do best in Fargo and Sioux Falls however I think Sioux Falls would do a little better just because they have a basketball arena and its generally 10-15 degrees warmer in Sioux Falls then it is in Fargo in late February/Early March..... And I don't think that the tournament being on ESPN is the greatest thing for Sioux Falls keeping it.... because if it is on ESPN and some venues and corporate people see it doing good they'll be inclined to consider bidding on it and the facct that the game is on ESPN means that it is something....

Again I'm just playing devels advocate I personally believe that in Sioux Falls it will do the best both attendance wise and money wise but as a fan I wouldn't be convinced that it is going to be there forever. Sioux Falls had some problems..... most if not all the fact that they play in a small, old arena.... but again in the end I think its money that wins out....

I am not sure how much more money they would have to put up to get the event, but it would be looked at.
I understand his point I just don't think winning the bid is just about any destination thowing a bunch of money at the League and then have the teams play in a empty venue. The League has stated more than once that they are looking at the athlete experience as a major criteria. I also don't think a city will bid if there is no anticipated return on investment like Sioux Falls was able to achieve. Yes, the money has to be there, but there are other factors. As long as Sioux Falls has the corporate support and continues to bring out the attendence numbers exhibited this year they will be hard to beat. I think Grand Forks (Ralph Engelstad Arena) and Fargo (Fargo Dome) will also get in the mix.
