Right now WIU and ORU are winless and stuck at the bottom, but there's no doubt that either team has the talent to make it to at least the semi-finals in Sioux Falls(if healthy). We could easily see a 1/8 or 2/7 upset at the tournament this year.
The preseason pick had WIU at the bottom and Denver at number 8. I would slide Denver to the #9 at this point. This follows the first 2 years when the pickers had Denver at the top of the conference. Denver's offense seems to be having trouble getting traction in the Summit. Their defense is tough, but the offense seems to have trouble getting big runs when needed.

usd defeats omaha 82-76. seekamp with 26. omaha was down by as many as 15 and cut it down to 4 with a minute left. defensive lapse, allowing wide open layup, and untimely turnover caused omaha to turn to fouls. could be wrong, but, i don't see omaha fading. hogue is a good one and will be a thorn for 3 more years. shaw didn't really show up till 2nd half. davenport had an "ok" game---think lange expects a little more out of her game than what they got today.

omaha could be a dangerous team come Summit Tourney time.

In MBB, IUPUI goes to 3-1 in the Summit League, beating Western Ill on the road 67-60. A pretty good Western team is now 0-3 in conference.

And even though it is very early in the conference race, the Jags seem to be better than anyone was giving them credit for.

From watching ESPN3 the other night, you could sense a much more talented bunch than they have had the last five years. They wanted to beat SDSU pretty bad and they did. BTW some one accused me of making them a contender because I gave them credit for the win, but who knows they just might be. They got two road wins under their belt.

Much better. They already have two road wins plus a victory over the consensus league favorite. That is an amazing first two weeks and a sign of a team to be respected.

Speaking of surprise teams that have two early road wins, Omaha got a big one at USD. USD let them chip away at a 21- point lead until it was gone. Omaha is legit. USD is in trouble.

Do you guys from Yankton speak with one voice? Seems like you both made nearly the same post. That aside we better get going or SDSU will end up in the dust. The offense has got to start making a big difference.

ORU did all they could to give the game to the Bison at the end but they couldn't take advantage. This could be one of those years where if you win your home games and go .500 on the road you could win the title.
