The official "Conference Title" might be split - not sure how they handle that. The #1 seed would definitely be ours though. We are sitting in a good spot right now. We also have a tie-breaker over NDSU (thanks again to WIU).

went to the USDw Oakland w game tonight. neither team could hit a basket. the Jacks men and Oakland must have burned out the baskets. both teams were in the low 20s for shooting percent in the first half, not much higher in the second. Zakiya Minifee went down again with her bad knee, talked to one of the OU players moms and even they don't know what happened to Waterworth over the summer. She was there for the first half in sweats for a little while and then was gone. don't understand why she doesnt ride the bence with the rest of the team at home games. did hear it might have been her back, but no one really knows.

On the women's side, all the home teams win tonight Oakland over the yotes, Ft Wayne over the roos, and WIU over the bison. Ft Wayne is alone at #4 seed now. WIU chasing for the#8 as Oakland wins for the third time. The Jaguars appear to have a firmer grip on the #2 seed.

This article from the Fargo Forum talks about last night's NDSU/WIU game and adds a little update about Braun's injury:

          http://www.inforum.com/event/article.../group/Sports/

"Doctors are waiting to see what X-rays show a week from next Monday. If they think the bone on the bottom and outside of his right foot is healed up enough, he could get cleared to play the next night in NDSU’s last home game against Utah Valley."
“My foot feels great,” said Braun, who cracked the bone in a Jan. 12 home game against Oakland. “I have no pain at all. But it can be 80 percent healed right now and feel great, but maybe with a slight movement, I could recrack it.”
"Phillips said when he does get Braun back, he is going to throw him to the wolves. Braun will quickly find out how much the cardio workouts on a stairmaster and the pool workouts have kept him in basketball shape."

The writer is incorrect, however, when he says that winning their final two games guarantees the Bison a #3 seed. They need OU to lose in order for that to happen. Can Braun return with enough endurance to be effective in back-to-back games? There is a decent chance that one of the Monday games could be SDSU/NDSU.

If the head to head is tied with OU and the bison, then the teams at top would help the tiebreaker. OU has split with the Jacks and WIU while the bison fell twice to WIU.

Its all about who you beat not who you lost to. If OU wins out the worst they can get is the 3 seed (I think) as a consequence of their win over WIU. Theoretically, any of the top 4 can still win the conference and get the #1 seed. I would say the Jackrabbits are in prime position for the 1 seed with 2 games left. I think it will end up this way:

              #1 SDSU 13-3
              #2 WIU 13-3
              #3 NDSU 12-4
#4 OU 11-5 (I think Frank Gaines and IPFW will split with them)

Then it would be OU beat WIU once while NDSU has not beaten WIU and OU would have the tie breaker

UMKC holds tiebreaker over USD because of them beating USD twice.

Depending on how the rest of the season plays out for teams at the top, a 7 seed might work out better for the Yotes than a 5 or 6 seed. Could also make for a packed house on Saturday night opening round

I would like the yotes to play Sunday and maybe pull Oakland since they have the Grizz's soft spot and then I would have to decide to cheer for OU or yotes. either one is hard to have that picture in my head. If they played WIU, then it would be go Leathernecks. The biggest need for the Jacks is to beat Omaha.

IUPUI gave us about as much a fight as Mayville State did. I know they've had some issues but wow. That said, after our offensive performance on Thursday we needed the confidence booster.

A #7 seed would assure them of of a Saturday night game and possibly an invite to the WAC! Go Jacks!!

I think there is a very good chance the Yotes end up with a 7 seed(congrats).USD and UMKC are likely to split with WIU and IUPUI. UMKC owns the tiebreaker. Even if IPFW gets swept by Oakland in their weird little 2 game set, they would own the tiebreaker over the Yotes . Probable game against Western Illinois in the SLT.
