I can assure you, I'm ok not actually knowing several thousand Nebraska fans. The handful I do know are plenty.
Sorry. I didn't realize I had to explain that that was sarcasm. I should've said, "This is sarcasm, but I call bullsh*t".

Sorry. Some of your friends on here take things pretty seriously, so I just assumed that was the trend. My bad. Had I known it was sarcasm, I would've laughed though.

Ouch. Harsh. Can't say I know anything about his golf game, but I've always enjoyed talking with him at booster events and whatnot. Sounds like you should probably quit golfing with him though if it's that rough.

I guess my point is don't judge someone on what you see on the sideline or on TV interviews until you spend a few hours with them in a different setting. I've spent many more hours on the course with Coach Nagy...not even close to the guy a lot of people think...especially non-SDSU fans.
          SDSU...Passionate, Relentless, Champions.

That doesn't mean he's a bad coach or a bad person. He's like a little kid that is pissy because mom and daddy just told him to finish his vegetables before dessert.

It's a message board dude. You said something a lot of us disagree with, so we posted messages voicing that disagreement. What, can't you handle responses to your post? Seems a little sensitive of you.

I just got current on this thread. It seems RO's comment above is accurate. And, in any event, what is the purpose of the smack comments coming from Augie fans, in a non-smack thread? (I'm not looking for an answer to that question.)

Additionally...he says "I think he is a good coach and a good man" and "he's pathetic" all within about handful of posts. Interesting.

Seems like the only person butt-hurt is the Augie fan that's posting smack.

AJF - I like your posts and what you bring to this board, and respect what I see from you as a college sports fan in the area. But when you come to an SDSU board and call one of our longest standing and most successful head coaches "pathetic", what do you expect for a reaction?

Re: A kinder, gentler Scott Nagy?

Pathetic is too strong of a word, but his style definitely rubs some folks the wrong way (myself included). As a fan, I am willing to look past this due to our recent winning ways. I would have to think long and hard before encouraging my (hypothetical) son to play basketball at SDSU. That's just me.

With that being said, I still think Nagy is a great coach and great human being.

AJF is entitled to his opinion.

I on the other hand would have no issue if any of the big 3 coaches would want my son or daugther to play there. It would be hard to think of 3 better people for kids to be around..... I am probably biased toward blue and yellow.

From everything I've heard Nagy absolutely loves his players. He no doubt has high (maybe perfect is a better word) expectations for his players.

I'll never forget the night during "The Transition" when Berte broke his arm. That injury ended his career as he was a senior. On the post game interview with Steve Imming it was obvious Nagy was fighting back tears talking about Berte and how that injury wasn't fair considering all he had been through and everything he had given the program. Nagy loves his guys, he may be tough on them, but he loves them.

Was this, this century? Because Division II is so last century for Jackrabbits.
