I found a guy with a red hat on who was not part of the yote bunch. It was the clean hat. It was pretty cold and seating would have been limited for yotes. Great crowd for the night. There may be a few of last night's Jackrabbit crowd at the Summit as well! Go Jacks!

I am always willing to give college kids a break - been one myself. But they better watch out for one thing: That "Not Fully Thought Out" disclaimer line in the rolling script could become a school slogan if they're not careful .....

My wife didn't go since that last time. I was treated well, like last time. I will say this, I'm not sure your crowd is quite as virtuous as you make them out to be. I had fun, always do when we play. Colder than hell needless to say. Congrats on the win, you started hot and we can't rebound. I think it's a great experience at both places. Good win for you SUPERBUNNY. congrats (no smack)

What does virtuous mean? Did someone try to proposition you? You left a vague accusation on the thread. I can verify there were no derogatory clips on the big screen. I do not recall vulgar chants or dead animals. Easy to say wolf.

Glad you had fun. I never said our crowd was pure as the driven snow. We've got our folks that take it too far. My beef has been with the Administration at USD. It was a great atmosphere! Of course, I'm looking at it through blue glasses.

Question for you: Where were the USD fans? I really expected a bigger turnout from those in red.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Anyway, enough with this love fest. Carry on!

I'm guessing yoteforever is referring to the classless "Daddy's Boy" chant the students directed at Jordan Boots in the second half. I don't think any of us would want SDSU to be a place where the students direct cheers at individual student athletes from the other team. I would hope that we can make it a tough atmosphere by cheering for our team and not against individuals on the other team. Outside of that, the students were great. But that was lame.

Many of my fellow SDSU fans around me in section BB felt the same way.

Yeah, I hear you on that one although compared to some of the chants from years past, that one was pretty tame. I loved how involved the students section were for that game. Would love to see it every game. That would make Frost an even tougher place to play.

That still pales in comparison to the "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jackrabbits suck Coyote ****" that was chanted at the septic tank this year. Also, USD students were berating a Jacks student manager (or trainer) so bad (with words and phrases that I won't even attempt to post) that Fiegen's dad finally got fed up and basically grabbed a 'security' guy and school official and forced them to act.

Well when i was a college student at SDSU, we didnt really have that many nice things to say to Josh M or Mandy K. Stuff id rather not repeat now but stuff that well, needless to say got their attention. I think Daddys boy chant was the same one used on the younger Tibbitts, who was playing around that time too. college kids say plenty of dumb stuff, i will attest to that. its the cursing that probably bugs me more now that as i bring a kid to the game i dont want them to hear. Heckling other players I think depending on how its done is ok. When we played UND I think it was for a few years that we would just ride on the coach the whole time, he looked back once or twice and could tell he was annoyed with us. I think what he did was he called the ref by name and said something like gary what are you doing......so as students we did the insert UNDs coaches name here........(bob, what are you doing, bob, why did you sub that player, bob use a time out, bob, bob, bob, type stuff.

Yoteforever kind of conveniently left that part out. Classy!

                            Re: Testing the rivalry

The "daddy's boy" chant was just fine. Students can cross the line at times, but that's no where near it.

I generally don't take issue with how students act because 95% of them are just there to have a good time and try to help their team win. Every one of us did things as college students that wasn't in the best of judgement, so I'm not going to put unrealistic expectations on a bunch of 18-22 year old kids.

The root of most problems at college sporting events stem from adults: Those who are acting like kids (i.e. Grown men wearing Screw the U / Hate State shirts and cursing in sections with children around) and athletic administrationers that enable students to behave badly by not having security near the student sections or neglecting to lock the visitor's locker room door before they arrive for a rivalry game. The host school taking a proactive approach to excessive behavior will stop most incidents before they begin.

Bottom line is: if everyone acts their age, a good time will be had by most, if not all.

Lets face it and i dont really mean this as smack but can we really count on USD to do something that would benefit SDSU? They would probably take pride in loosing the game because it means it might be harder for SDSU to get a top 2 seed or to win the confrence.
