The Big Ten is as good as the Big Twelve in football? Please.

I'd say the Big 10 is better in football, the Big 12 has a lot of fluff. Basketball they are pretty close. Of course the Big 10 blows the Big 12 away in terms of tradition, academics, and $$$$$$. Nebraska is basically leaving the NSIC for the NCC.

I will say this, the Big 10 just got a whole lot better in football. But over the last decade or two the Big 10 has been the "NSIC" to the Big 12 "(NCC). I do 100% agree with the Big 10 being stronger in tradition, academics, and $$$$$$.

Going to be interesting to see the dominos fall on this one.

Big 12 can wave goodbye to another conference member. Colorado is joining the Pac-10 today

I'd say and this going back to the end of our DII days it is more like the NCC(Big 10) and MIAA(Big 12).

But Nebraska joining the Big 10 got a huge lift indeed and I love it as a Big 10 fan.

My previous comment that only Notre Dame will join the Big 10 and nothing else happens is obviously wrong. With Colorado leaving, the Big 12 is done and major changes are about to happen.

Anyone want to start speculation on how the Summitt might change with all of this?

Most likely is that SUU is going to finally get into the Big Sky which would be great for them and the Summit. Gene Taylor actually mentioned that on the radio yesterday.

Less likely is that we lose Oakland or ORU but that would require a substantial shake up out east. Something that would trigger conferences going into the Horizon and MVC which isn't really likely since as of now this is about football.

Does anyone feel there could be a trickle down effect and we could go to the MVC?

                        Re: Conference shifts

So with the first moves pretty much assured to happen this week (today)... when do the rest of the dominoes fall and how long will it take for all of the pieces to find homes?

Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State and I guess Baylor as well are the most vulnerable.. will be interesting to see where they land.

The only way it happens is if Big East football is no more, which could happen but that depends on just how big the Big 10 wants to get.

                            Re: Conference shifts

                            I'll take a shot:

Big 12 dissovles ala the NCC:

                            Colorado - Pac 10
                            Nebraska - Big 10

                            Texas - Pac 10
                            Texas Tech - Pac 10
                            Texas A&M - Pac 10
                            OU - Pac 10
OSU - Pac 10 (Edited later from MWC, due to the fact the Pac 10 will want 16 teams.)

                            Kansas - ACC

                            Kansas St -Mountain West
                            Iowa St. - Mountain West

                            Missouri - SEC

                            Baylor - Conference USA

                            If the Big 12 remains:

Big 12 keeps everyone besides CU and NU and adds UHouston and Utah.
                            I don't forsee this happening...The Big 12 looks like it's in dire-straits.
                            SDSU...Passionate, Relentless, Champions.
