Someone in the know can correct me, but I think that the situation is that SDSU doesn't want to get into a copyright tussle, not that Warner Bros. has actually complained about it.
It's possible that they have, but I think instead this is another instance of SDSU being proactive and taking care of a problem before it becomes a problem.
(There's also the legendary letter to SDSU from WB saying that our rabbit is OK . . . some folks remember it but nobody can find it.
