I've got the requested tickets for the USD game at Frost arena. Per TV's blog reserved seats are sold out. If you requested a ticket it is sitting in a cupboard at my house. I'll get them out to those who requested after Christmas. Just too darn busy to get them to you sooner. So, if you need a last minute stocking stuffer make up a certificate that says the tickets are on there way.

Hopefullly, students see this and get there tickets. If I were still a student I would not be happy with this change at all. Luckily for me it does not matter either way..We...ARE...STATE!

Re: Tickets for USD game
The Students need to get over it. This situation requires handling student tickets as such. Being a former ticket manager I know the headaches of dealing with the "unknown" of student attendance and having people waiting in line the night of the game to find out if we are going to sell them a ticket...and then turning them away. NOT a good thing to do and does not make the athletic department look good.
I'd really, really like to know what the students aren't happy about. Is it that they have to be accountable ahead of time for securing a ticket AND that they have to show their ticket and ID for admittance?
Great move athletic department.I updated my signature for the first time in six years.

They ought to go to a school where you have to get in a lottery to get seats, line up in tents a couple nights before to qualify for them, keep them only by going to all the games, and pay an extra couple hundred bucks for them. Give me a break.

Re: Tickets for USD game
It's pretty simple really. You either get a ticket ahead of time (for free) or you take your chances getting in line soon enough the day of the game and hope you get in.
I'd be all for getting my ticket early and students should be thankful this is the protocol.

Re: Tickets for USD game
There is going to be a line for GA seats. I bet it starts around 4 pm. I wonder where it will be? With the new entrances there might be two lines. I'm glad I've got reserved seats.
I expect a pretty full arena this weekend as well. With the fastbreak clinic and two good Oakland teams in town.We are here to add what we can to life, not get what we can from life. -Sir William Osler

They should have been there trying to get tickets back when the Regionals were at Frost arena. Had to cut a whole day of classes to get in line to hopefully get in. I would have loved to be able to get my ticket in advance and know for sure I was getting into the game.
Friend of mine went to Duke in the 90s. He laughed when I talked about having to wait a whole "4 hours" to get my tickets.-South Dakotan by birth, a Jackrabbit by choice.

Re: Tickets for USD game
Seating capacity is considerably less at Frost than it was 5 years ago. Student population is up. Student attendance at most games is down as compared to 5 years ago. The athletic department needs a strong season ticket base as a guarantee of income generated by basketball. Allowing students open access to the games of their choice doesn't fit with these facts. I would think that having a set amount of student tickets could have a positive effect on the atmosphere of the game. It creates a buzz around the game and could make the students that get tickets be more into the entire experience.-South Dakotan by birth, a Jackrabbit by choice.

Students have to pay an activity fee. No choice about it. Now they may not get to see certain games for which they (or their parents) have paid for. If tickets are going to be limited for students, then the price of the activity fee should be reduced accordingly.
Student seating should be a priority. They are the future fan base.
