I would regret to see any fine article written about them being put on a "Deadspin" blog which appears to attract only immature classeless people.

WRONG. I have a few relatives who check out Deadspin, and I can ASSURE you that they are not immature classless people.

As of the time of this post, there were 30 comments (some worse than others), and 6440 views. Assuming every 'bad' person made 1 comment (I'm too lazy to see if there were double comments by the same person) and each person viewed the article once (so 6440 people viewed the article), that means that (30/6440)*100 is the percentage of 'immature classeless people' that viewed the article. Rounded up that is 0.5% of the articles viewers. I'm sure there are some other worthless people out there that viewed the article that didn't post a comment, but you get the idea.

I don't blame RO for making a thread about the article, and he's not a 'snake' (which makes him comparable to Satan). People need to relax a little. Now, if he were to do it over again, maybe it would have been better to just mention that the article made Deadspin and to not post the link. Perhaps then this discussion would have stopped at 'Look at the exposure SDSU is getting' rather than the 'morality of todays youth'.

And where are you going with that one there big guy? Are you saying I'm immature because I know people who have been to the deadspin sight before? Or are you accusing my relatives of being immature? If you want associate millions of people together because of a few bad people who make disgusting comments then you go ahead. While apparently I'm immature, at least I'm not self-righteous.

JJ & Mango, I am in no disagreement with either of your thoughts BUT this is not the place to have this link. Just for the fact that those same comments are what the average non geek will notice. This was supposed to be about a special article about a special person. When I visited that site I was disgusted and hurt. Trust me, it is pretty hard to crack my shell and it did because of the comments as related to the article...by the tiny chance that a family member does read this and is not aware of it's intended purpose it will simply crush them.

Again I ask you Filbert...Simply delete this thread, it does not belong here.

What exactly makes me self rightous? Please explain. How does immaturity trump self righteousness? Please explain. I have a lot of respect for Eagle Scouts and other bright young people so hardly consider myself self righteous.

Hey I am for a lock too. I have nothing more to prove. I accused RO of being malicous. Others told this not the case and I subsequently agreed and also subsequently apologize, but State Fan seems like he needed to take me to the wood shed Why? Because I was ignorant of this Deadspin website. I have never had any reason to find out Deadspin, and in the process I am attacking his entire family and anyone else that visits the website. Sh*t I cant win.

My problem is associating everyone who's been to that site with the actions of a few. I in no way defend the statements made on the blog, merely I know people who have been to that site (and it appears a lot of other people here have been there as well) and you saying that anyone who visits that sight is immature got me going. Its not like its my favorite blog or anything (TV's site has that hands down), but I think its a smug thing to group people together like that.

I really don't want to sit here and argue all night, I've got better things to do and I'm sure you do to. I have no problem with closing this thread.

According to websiteoutlook.com, deadspin.com gets over 167,000 views a day. I have no idea how this site keeps track of these numbers and have no idea if they are valid. Just wanted to link it because 167,000 people is quite a few (although I thought it'd be more)...I'm guessing a good majority of those 167,000 would not have seen this article if not for deadspin.com.

so to sum this thread up: deadspin has a loyal readership that read a story they probably weren't going to because of the the blog, a few members on deadspin felt the need to try to be funny but failed miserably and instead my very crude remarks that most people didn't agree with, anything I missed?

I think we're beating a dead horse here.
