Deadspin - JackRabbits!

The most famous and most read sports blog on the internet, Deadspin.com, linked to the USA Today article today. This is really, really good exposure for the team. Opens them up to a completely different audience. Deadspin is a daily stop for me and it completely shocked me when I was scrolling down and one of the articles was on SDSU.

Anyways, IDK if this deserves it's own thread, but I thought this was pretty cool.

I didn't even read the comments. Some of them make me laugh though. The "This is a sad story, I hate to see kids grow up in South Dakota" had me laughing. I suppose if you're over the age of 35, Deadspin probably isn't the site for you.

I just thought it was cool to see SDSU getting pub in a site that appeals to the younger demographic. Most of those guys will make a joke in the comments but most of them will read the article. But I guess if you want to focus on the negative, that's cool.

The comments by those people, I hope, are not representative of the next generation. If they are, we are in a hell of a fix.

I could go into a tirade of the crap young people listen to (mostly rap), the movies young people go to, or they way they talk to each other (most filled with obscenities and put-downs). It's no wonder they see a good news story and laugh.

People need to stand up and say this is not tolerated. To read it, to listen to it and say nothing is really saying it's okay. It's not okay.

This is not good.

As I stated before, I linked to it before I read the comments. I guess I should have realized that the comments would be like that, since it is Deadspin. I thought it was cool seeing my school on a highly trafficked blog, not the comments (other than the growing up in SD one, which I read later).

I don't know why I deserved to be kicked off the board. I didn't make any of the comments, I just saw the story and immediately linked to it here. Prolly should have realized that people here wouldn't take the comments as jokes, but I didn't make it that far in my thought process.

3) How do I want to see harm done to SDSU?
4) What harm was done to SDSU?

But let me give you a word of caution ... maybe my age is catching up with me ... when you come on here and act like you are an "observer" and somehow have a unique position to watch the world in front of you ... well, you don't know the history and you can't possibly know everything. How you just got bit in the ass proves that. Step down from your high horse. It will do you some good.

I'd also like to point out that I linked to an blog post and I'm considered to have no class because of the comments on that post? Really? If I linked to an Argus article and there was some idiot in the comment section making racist comments does that make me racist?

Sure I should have read more carefully, but I didn't. I said the one comment made me laugh. Blaming this whole thing on me is a little bit of an overreaction.

But I apologize. Didn't mean to offend anyone. I honestly posted it with good intent. Believe it if you want.
