Hey all from RedBird Nation. I'll give you a short rundown of what you can expect. This team has 3 true point guards,Cirone, Hudson and Crick that could play for about anybody, Hudson was a HS team mate of Candace Parker (yeah, that Candace Parker). Shelton is long, lean, and just plain athletic (participated in the dunk contest with the men at our fan night), but has no jump shot at all. The 2 girls on the inside, Johnson and Lewis are pretty good, they were able to push Rice around pretty good. Meg is a shooter, pure and simple, great 2 guard. We play man and try to push the ball, like to be pressed because with 3 points on the floor, it usually leads to a lay up.

We have as much physical ability as anyone we played all year except for perhaps DePaul, went toe to toe with IaSt. We are young, at any time we are likely to have 2 frosh and 2 sophs on the floor. Young players make mistakes, we lost a few games this year simply because of being young and a habit of getting the deer in the headlights look when the other team makes a run.

Kristi is the MVC POY as a soph, she could play for anyone in the country. Usually plays the 1, but is also the go to scorer. Here's to a good game, no one gets hurt, and everyone plays hard.

Checked out the Jacks this afternoon. WOW. Several wins over Big 12, and other "name" programs. They are expecting 6000+ on saturday. This is gonna be tough folks.

Nice to see some people from Illinois State stopping by, I'd post on your board but apparently the webmaster is a little slow in sending confirmation e-mails.

Yeah, BirdFan (redbirdfan.com mastermind) had some trouble with spamers coming on the site so he had to go to a different validation. We are looking forward to getting to know our new conference members too 8-)

For football you can also go to www.redbirdfootballfan.com It's a new site so not much happening yet, but I think when football starts it will pick up. The moderator there is a great guy.
