ESPN Coaches' Poll is turning into a joke - Wisconsin, who didn't even play close against us, is getting more votes than us! Omaha almost beat them. These voters must do 0 research.

This one is bad. Where are you even going to see the Badgers are deserving? Net is 79, one quad 2 win (Butler), rest quad 4. Minneosta 34 NET (all quad 4 wins) may have been a more believable vote.
I figured the coaches must have some relation to Indiana, but it turns out all 31 conferences get a vote. USD has been the Summit League's representative for the past two years.

The Indiana women's team lost at Butler by 10, and Wisconsin won at Butler last week on Wednesday by 7, 71-64. Wisconsin only played one game last week between polls. Indiana is 3 weeks out from having received AP votes. What's more likely, one voter accidentally putting Wisconsin at like #11 or multiple people putting Wisconsin 22-25?

I'm expecting to see an undeserving Minnesota being anywhere from 1-3 wins away from showing up in the polls.

New AP poll is out. Jacks gain one additional vote from last week to put them at 31st with 9 points. They were moved from 19 to 21 in the one lady's poll and now 24 (from 25) in the North Carolina guy's poll. They've been added to Emily Adams' ballot at #23. She covers Uconn women's basketball and the Connecticut Sun (WNBA) for the Hartford Courant.
Richmond (8 points in last week's AP poll) lost to Texas playing in Virginia by 11 and lost 3 points in the poll. I'd say that's the best worst case scenario following the game against Texas this Sunday. AP voting by individual

With finals, holidays, etc, some of these teams will only play one game before the next poll is released. A lot of these power teams with 1 or 2 losses will soon find out what they're made of in the next 3 weeks. #23 Nebraska's next 3 games are at #17 Georgia Tech, at #1 UCLA, and at #7.

Net has stayed the same at 42. Oral Roberts is now 89.

One interesting thing about this transition to the committee now using NET is that they've also adjusted the breakdown of Quad 1 - Quad 4. Each of the first 3 quadrants have become smaller, making the good wins/losses more clear. Unfortunately, this means Quadrant 4 has become so large that some of those away conference games (ORU AND NDSU last year for example) that counted as quad 2 are now quad 3, and all of last year's quad 3 wins (9-0, 7-0 in the Summit) would all be Quad 4 games.

I've had Ga Tech vs Texas penciled in for a week or so (Dec 21) as well as Creighton vs UCLA (Dec 20), they both should be fun to watch.

Shocking Texas should def put them in the top 25 AP if not top 20 even though thats a very tall order. This has the feel of a second round caliber team I don't think any other fans would doubt that.

New AP poll is out, Jacks are #37 with 8 points (a Gonzaga affiliated writer for Yahoo/HoopsHQ has us at #19 giving the team 7 points - she was the lone SDSU voter last week putting the team at #22 for the Jacks 4 points -- and a UNC affiliated individual has us at #25 for 1 point). Richmond is the other midmajor (assuming you can't count Creighton) receiving votes. They play Texas in Virginia on the 15th.

NET the team is now #42. RPI is now #9 from #3. It along with SOS, etc, dipped following the conclusion of the EWU game.
Oral Roberts is #74 following the most recent win over #60 Montana State in 1OT in Tulsa. Some of the lower ranked Summit schools jumped by as much as 20 spots with at least one win over the Big Sky.
Northern Iowa's NET is #67, and Texas is #4.

From a ranking perspective, each game is obviously crucial, and a Montana loss, much similar to a Northern Iowa loss, would seemingly kill any chance of rising until like at least halfway through conference play. As the voter who has us at #19 notes (she has us above GT, #22) "Unlike the Jackrabbits, Georgia Tech’s ability to rise in the ranks will get better once conference play begins..." Just have to continue to hope for chaos with the p4 schools.

I traveled down a 50-40-90 women's rabbit hole, and came across the Elena Delle Donne Delaware teams. The 31-2 '11-'12 team was #24 by Week 4 or 5 (5-0 with a ranked win at home over #11 Penn State) and then kept rising, eventually making it to #7 come CAA tourney and then an eventual 3 tourney seed. Other than the ultimate NCAA tourney loss, they lost to #5 Maryland in College Park.

On the latest AP poll, you can see who each person voted for via the drop-down. This post on reddit has imgur links for Preseason through Week 5 voting that includes all the user votes, voter affiliation, and ranks how far they've voted from the actual results.

Oral Roberts NET may be the most surprising. They have three 20 point wins (2 against teams with a NET in the 170s), so I assume that's why they are where they are.

It's kind of crazy that two of the three teams really dragging the Summit League down in this are USD and UND. How the times have changed.

It does say at the top of the page that NET rankings is updated for games through MAR 17, so I suspect Peavy is correct.

It's weird, Ga Tech has our game against them listed (Nolan) and has the correct scores, both us (71-57) and Oregon's (74-58) at the just recently completed tournament the North Shore Showcase, but I have 2025 selected above. Ga Tech is ranked #68 at 6-0 , that's too low for them at the present. Our schedule (SDSU) and results listed are correct too, #55. I haven't checked when they update.

Correct everything you see now is from last year's final net, so that Oregon State ranking is from the last year's Reagan Beers led team. She has since transferred to Oklahoma
