Mahli will develop over time as her small frame is the only possible concern - too light. Great speed, change-of-direction, and ball skills.

Brooklyn, MM, & Vasecka are the golden trio to keep The Summit League competition mashed down.

And the recruits/redshirts must play defense to earn PT with them - history shows AJ usually plays 8 with significant minutes.

my guess is that it will be Abdouch, but there are some other possibilities also
My hope is why waste a year of Mahli when you have a girl named Paige that has a motor that has no limits.

I might be off the rails here. But I think we have something special in Mahli. I watched her in the one game she was able to get in (I think), she made some passes very Paige like. Can she drive and finish like Paige, IDK. Getting to study under Paige can't hurt either. It will be a big ask of her to take the reins if she is the #1 PG. But I think she is the real deal. JMO, and I don't have a very broad base to look over. Any other insight would be interesting.

you are missing multiple players who contributed a lot to excellent teams before and after that season

Oistad was a senior on that team and a HUGE piece off of the bench. she led the team in scoring multiple times and also in rebounding multiple times during the year
in our ncaa win vs TCU she led the team with 7 assists. also had 10pts and 5 boards, 4-7 FGs and 2-3 3pt FGs
in the loss to Baylor she was the 3rd leading scorer (only Jenn W scored double digits)

Muckenhirn, Sunnarborg, were also on that roster. both started lots of games. Sunnarborg i am pretty sure was a starter on two ncaa tourney teams

one of the awesome and very very fun things about being a fan is forming our own opinions and understanding the reasons that we hold the opinions that we do, and then being able to discuss it / debate it with friends, family, fellow fans, etc...

in that fun hobby, EVERY person is very welcome to their own opinion. that said, I guess many of us here have been following for a long time.

I would be very very curious what your criteria is for ranking this years team ahead of the 2018-19 team? that team is our only sweet 16 team. in their final game, they lost to Oregon in the state of Oregon by ten. they lost to them earlier in the year in Brookings by 8. that Oregon team had FOUR players drafted by the WNBA (they would have had a fifth but she retired from basketball after college) including the First, Second, and Eighth pick in the 2020 draft
they lost to Baylor the #4 team in the country on a neutral floor by 6. Baylor WON the National Championship. they won their region final game by 32

that 2019 team had 3 players who won 3 NCAA tourney games and there is no other player in program history who has won 3.
that team had Macy and Myah who it will be difficult to argue are not the top two players in program history
that team almost always had four 6 footers on the floor
that team had four, yes FOUR, of the top six scorers in program history, EVERY OTHER player in the top 16 played all of their career in D2 except Megan Vogel #4 and Kristen Rotert #12

to my way of seeing it the 18-19 team is the unquestioned best and most talented team we have ever had and i see that is zero insult to this years team

if you are strictly talking about the number of quality players on the roster, yes, i still give it to 18-19. I would also put the 08-09 team ahead. pretty much everyone on that roster contributed significantly to a streak of 5 straight SLT championships

I am actually surprised they put us ahead of OSU! Some sarcasm intended, but with how those people are, not entirely.
