Just because you ask a question doesn't mean that anyone else is obligated to answer it.

I personally thought your question in the Father's Day article thread about Mr. Hegge was in poor taste, not because of the question itself (which was a legitmate question) but because it was in the thread it was in. I wasn't bent out of shape enough to say anything about it, I just thought the question in that thread was a bit insensitive. If that makes me a jackass then yeah, I'm OK with it.

Regarding USC, you might have gained some level of respect by just saying "oops, yeah, I was wrong there" rather than getting all huffy after making a statement that was easily disproved.

You haven't yet given me (speaking just as a forum member, not as a moderator/admin) any reason to value your observations here, but there's plenty of time, so just calm down a bit and join the conversation.

It doesn't say "MVP" but she was the high scorer for the winning team. Pretty good for someone that "is not even the best player on her high school team?" Of course you have to keep in mind it is pretty easy to look good against Nebraska because there aren't any good ball players from that state.

How many points is a game played at home worth?

        http://gojacks.sdstate.edu/jackwb09.htm

        USC 66
        SDSU 59

On their home court, first year DI, seven points?

This  will be our 3rd year in DI, the game will be played on our home court.

I am sure they don't want to play us. Because they know they will get beat in the rabbit den.

OKAY OKAY..perhaps I might have to see these Lady Jacks play to fully appreciate them as I am a men's fan, just not women's. Well when they look like a good team, like smoking Nebraska on their home court..then LOSE TO DRAKE? Honestly..that's like NDSU men beating Wisconsin, then lose to who? Utah Valley State..it's just..idk...okay Abby is a great player and tall, Jenn W. will be a force on the offensive end...and well if this team likes to play defense they will be in good shape? I hope we beat USC if we play them, because I mean come on, USC plays against your Candace Wiggins and Nikki Blue-type of players night in and night out so it just shows that our women can compete in any league? I must also note, that in the '04-05' season, our women beat Alabama..and Alabama came within ONE POINT of beating eventual Final Four team LSU in the SEC tournament

I saw that we have games 11/17 vs. SW Mn St. and 1/12 vs UMDuluth. It would be nice to get home games or one home, one away vs Mid-con teams. If invited to mid-con, hopefully we can get games with mid con members vs them going to Chicago St.

                  Re: '06-'07 schedule

The SMSU game will be a good time to work out some kinks after USC's visit and before the tournamne tin the Bahamas. The UMD game is the only home game scheduled (to date) in January. We're allowed two games against D-2 opponents (even though it has no effect on RPI), might as well use at least one of them to ensure a timely home game instead of having a stretch of eight straight road games, which has seemed like the case for the past two years. It also doesn't hurt to have a school that's only 60 miles away be willing to come play, whether it's an exhibition or a regular season game.

Another schedule change for the SDSU womens bb team...apparently Idaho State has opted not to play the Jacks. Like FB they have withdrawn their contract. :-[ So with the open date, the Jacks have scheduled a one-timer @the Kansas Jayhawks! ;D
Both Fred Oien and A-J spoke about the game today on the Sportsshow with Brad & Scotty in Brookings...(broadcast LIVE from WBB camp at SDSU!)
From the looks of the schedule in this post, that would mean a subtraction of a home game, but a road trip to a Big 12.
Maybe the New Years waxing they took from the Jackrabbit women was a little too much..
Extra info...just over 150 girls at this years 7-12 individual camp!!!

one less home game, but a higher quality road game. at least a better look for the rpi for the next year.

I don't think we should be scheduling many basketball (women's or men's) games out west anyway. Most of our recruits for women's basketball should be in neighboring states to the east and south of Brookings anyway. I'm sure that a recruit would rather play for a team that is playing teams from Kansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, et cetera than playing teams from Idaho and Montana. We would have a much better chance of landing a recruit from the first group of states than from Idaho or Montana. Of course it would be nice to have a home and home, which we are not getting with Kansas, but as time goes on, maybe we can secure a home and home like we have with Alabama, USC and other major conference teams.

Good thing we didn't get invited to join the BS Conference...... The time zone issue also comes into play here because a 7:00 Pacific tip-off means a 9:00 start time here and it'll likely end too late to be in the Argus the next day. You're right, NorCalJack, our women b-ball recruits have largely been from SD, MN, and WI and it's in our best interest for AJ to get OOC matchups with the schools in those states....

While trying to beat the heat, ran across some of our opponents websites for womens basketball...rumors of USC buying out their contract may be just that.
A web-page update shows their 06-07 schedule still includes a mid-Nov trip to SDSU!!

                              http://www.cstv.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos...7wbbquickfacts

Wonder if 3-in-1 all-weather jackets and stocking caps are in the USC womens basketball budget for 06-07??!!

welcome to Ms Rotert and Ms. Schutloffel...not just basketball stars, but smart, quality women...and what do you know, right here in SD!
