  • #6 Maryland

This one is probably even tougher than matching up with Notre Dame, because there won't be 5,500 screaming SDSU fans providing energy.

    Maryland is:

    - Coming in off of four consecutive 40+ point wins.
    - Home to a 400-win coach.
    - Coming into 2015/16 off of two consecutive Final Four trips.
    - Went 18-0 in the Big Ten last year while playing only one senior.
    - Recognized as having the nation's top recruiting class for 2016.

Obviously we will have our hands full. Hopefully we can learn a few things and keep it relatively close. An effort like we saw yesterday will have us looking like Denver did earlier today against Notre Dame (lost 94-52, and it could have been much worse).

if we could concentrate and make lay ups, it would really go far in settling nerves a little....nothing COUNTS ,no matter how pretty a move, pass, etc....til the ball goes through the hoop.

It looks like the only way we'll hit 50'points today is if they let it happen during garbage time. Maryland very much looks like they belong among the nation's elite. Very athletic.

three's not going in that well,we'll find it impossible to go against that height if we can't get them to respect the perimeter

As good as the Jacks are, this is a huge mismatch. It's reminiscent of that tropical game of a few years ago where we scored 3 or 4 points in the first half.

We can't get anything even resembling an open shot inside the 3-point line.

I have to give a LOT of credit to the SDSU defense. As awful as things went on the offensive end, good defense kept this from becoming a first-half route. Well done.

Having a handful of 3's fall in for us helped out offensively. For a long while we were shooting less than 10%.

This is a big plus....to be down only 10....expect Maryland to come out and try to push the lead to 20+

At this level, big gals in the paint are just dominating,we struggle mightily when our threes don't fall. Our defense is awesome however.

Jacks playing much better in 2nd half so far.

Maryland 36, SDSU 33; 4:50 to go in the 3rd.

AJ must have had my disparaging comments on the bulletin board at halftime.

The Jacks have come out with energy and aggression. They must have seen something that indicated that they could slash to the basket and they are having some success. The defense, though, is still outstanding. Maryland has only scored 5 points in 5:00.

                            Down by only 3 points!

Jones leads the way for the terps, she's one of those elite post players, can't let her creep in too close, or her shots are automatic,so far,in this game anyway
