Trust me, if I could, I would.  We were pretty lucky to make it back for the WBB, FB vs. WP, and VB a couple weeks ago and we'll be coming back for Thanksgiving in a couple weeks.  Gotta spend some time at home too.

The closer the game gets the more excited I am! This is a huge opportuntiy for us to see a fantastic basketball game!

IT'S THE WOMEN OF FREAKIN' TROY AND THEY ARE RANKED!!!

The women deserve to have a monster crowd at the game! They have done us proud since day one of the transition in every possible way, let's return the favor!

      Be there loud and proud!

What time does the game start and does anyone know if there are still General Admission tickets available?

Great big time game for the bunnies The Women of Troy, I'm impressed. Hope you get a sellout and a win. (Just so you don't feel so bad about not getting the Dakota Marker back Saturday)

Filbert is planning to make a post-game appearance at Cubby's (that's after the inevitable SDSU win over the USC "Women of Troy&quot.

What I want to know is: Why can't women be called "Trojans?" I mean really, weren't there any females living in the ancient Greek city of Troy? There were female Athenians, weren't there? Athena herself was female--as in goddess, right? Seems pretty sexist to me to call the USC men's teams the "Trojans" and then demean the women's teams with the appelation "Women of Troy" doesn't it? Why not "Trojans" for all of USC's teams? It's good enough for "Jackrabbits" isn't it?

OK, I'll just go to bed now . . .

Reserved seats are not sold out. 998 are season tickets, plus an additional 200 advance tickets have been sold per Christi Williams in an article in Friday's Argus. It would be nice if the game was a sellout.

SDSU women host the No. 19 Trojans tonight

Born, raised and now attending college in Brookings, South Dakota State University student Nick Hartley called tonight's women's basketball game against the University of Southern California - yes, that USC - at Frost Arena "the first big-time event," in his 16 years as a Jackrabbits fan.

The campus must be buzzing, right?

                            "It's about average," he said.

Except it's not; this is a unique situation, the first time SDSU has hosted a ranked NCAA Division I opponent.

USC is member of a major conference - the Pac-10 - and a school that, largely because of its location and its legendary football program, is synonymous with glamour. The Trojans are ranked 19th and coming off an appearance in the NCAA tournament. It's a Friday night game and the home opener for SDSU, which is coming off a road victory at Middle Tennessee State, another tournament qualifier that received votes in this week's polls.

SDSU athletic ticket manager Christi Williams said that in addition to 998 season tickets, roughly 200 advance tickets have been sold for tonight, a number that's above average because most fans buy tickets on a walk-up basis. .  .  .  .  (read more)

The Women of Troy will visit South Dakota State, then No. 7 Ohio State.

The No. 19 USC women's basketball team will make its first road swing of the season this weekend when it faces South Dakota State (1-0) tonight at 5 p.m. before meeting up with No. 7 Ohio State (1-0) Sunday at noon.

The Lady Buckeyes will be one of the highest-ranked teams USC will face all season. Despite the anticipation of the matchup in Columbus, the Women of Troy have their sights set on the Jackrabbits first.

"These kids look at things one game at a time," USC coach Mark Trakh said. "South Dakota State has beaten a few major programs. It would be a mistake to overlook them."

South Dakota State finished 19-9 last year but was not eligible for post-season play. The Jackrabbits return their top scorer in senior forward Megan Vogel, who scored 23 points in their season-opening win against Middle Tennessee State. USC defeated South Dakota State two years ago, 66-59.
