Jacks are going to crush them, no contest. UTEP doesn't stand a chance. Hockey sucks and so does UND. Woodside should be in the NBA.

    How's that?

They say the main challenge for SDSU will be the crowd factor, which i don't think it will play that big of a role (will be a factor at times). Every player on SDSU roster excluding the 3 freshman have played in the NCAA tournament and in big games throughout their careers so their nerves shouldn't be near as bad as some would think. I watched the the replay of the UTEP/Washington game. The Miners gave up A LOT of open looks from 3 and Washington's defense was awful at times. SDSU is playing their best ball and great defense right now. It going to be an entertaining game to watch.
With their triangle and two defense, I think they were trying to shut down UW's two best shooting 3 pt shooters, who each have made 80+ three pointers this season.Won't work against us,we have too many players who can hit an open three.

That said, they switch defenses alot,so we might not see alot of the triangle and 2.We will present some unique problems for them to defend, and the short preperation time, i hope we hit em hard to begin with and keep it up while their still "wobbly" and keep a little cushion for the game and "settle in " to a good game flow on offense, and hold them and the crowd at bay.

Hang with 'em,hang with 'em, hang with'em and get the last 10 point run late?Don't really care what the scenario is,as long as it results in a win.

TV tweeted this: Because people are asking: It seems that buying a pass to Miner TV for $9.99 is the only way to watch the SDSU at UTEP game tonight.

Its a month subscription. It renews automatically so you have to remember to cancel it after the game. The video is great but you have to listen to the UTEP announcers (you can mute them out). I don't know if JJs broadcast will sync with the video or not.

TCS would love nothing more than to have the championship televised with a sold out arena of 12,000+. We aren't gonna get any 50/50 calls tonight. To get a W, the ladies will need to play their best game of the year...

Reminds me of the trip out to Wyoming back in 2008. Hopefully the outcome is better.

The full house may be some extra money and hype, but the CBS check is probably a bit nicer payday. Hopefully, there is not a reason that the refs would be influenced too much with calls. It would be an amazing sight to see the crowd after a Jackrabbit victory. Go Jacks!!

I don't think the crowd will be THE major factor for the Jacks either. This group has played in plenty of big games, both tournament and otherwise. They have looked both awesome and awful in front of both empty arenas and packed houses (this year in Sioux Falls!). I'd hate to have to predict how they will perform tonight, but I'm hoping that it looks a lot like the effort they put up against Indiana. A win will certainly take one of their best efforts of the year.

I'm definitely going to pay the $10 for the video.

Not like it matters but SDSU is a 4.5 point underdog tonight per 5dimes.

Just got an email from my source at TCS. He says, as of this moment, the winner of the UTEP vs SDSU game is pegged to host the WNIT championship game. Of course, he also told me this game would be on Thursday night, so.....

Would you guess that is all home court points or would they still be favored if the game was in Brookings?

I think UTEP would still be favored in Brookings but only by 2.5. I'm just guessing. I'm not totally sure how they figure in home-court.

I wonder if this would be on the committees minds when determining on who hosts the championship game if SDSU wins tonight:

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Brookings County that will be in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Rain and snow is likely to begin this evening with snow accumulations being less than an inch. The potential for an additional 7 to 8 inches of snow exists during the day Thursday, with another 4 inches of snow possible Thursday evening into Friday. Winds will increase from 10 to 15 mph on Thursday to between 15 and 25 mph Thursday evening into Friday, with gusts approaching 35 mph.

Calling that a "line" is a bit of a stretch. Anyway ,12,000 in attendance is impressive. I read where the average attendance for the NCAA womens first round games were 4,000.
