Regardless, we have had those players. Schlagel and Warkentien come to mind as inside out players. But those were also two of the all time greats. AJ compared Chyna Stevems to these two. Here's oping the Clark County connection continues!

Many of you are discussing the poor offensive output from last night, but allowing CMU to score 88 also suggests a very poor defensive effort as well. It appears the entire team just failed to "show up".

it was the first home game for the chips and they had parents, past teams and a lot of hoopla. they came out inspired and wanting to win. it looked like they also had some home cooking from the refs on the video. chips got some big players who used their strngth on the Jacks. especially under the basket. they came out hot stayed hot and the Jacks never recovered

Not going to win many games giving up 88 points. Will win some games scoring 62. Seems to me the problems were on defense. That is usually about heart and preparation. Lack of focus away from home on the holidays?

The CMU game has the looks of that day you should have called in sick, but it was not a possibiity. Then when you did show up, there were too many things on your plate. Hopefully, we have had the last thumping of the season. There are some more of those road games, but it is not over the holidays. I am sure that some consistency will be appearing well before the conference schedule. We have seen some glimmers of all the game to this point. A good home crowd for the Marquette game will make it a great time to forget the last game. I am still trying to remember which was supposed to be the easy game OOC. I had one guy tell me that he did not think they would finish OOC at .500. Go Jacks.

Not necessarily do you need to throw up 3's to be considered a perimeter player. You pointed out only Boever in my reference to our past posts that could shoot the ball from outside. You forgot Sunny, Work, Shlagel (sp), Boever etc. But the posts I mentioned could shoot ball from outside the paint which I have not seen from the current post players. I would again need to look at a shot chart to verify but I cannot remember seeing our current bigs score from outside the paint. Strop and Waytasek score but they are not posts like Katie, Stewart, Clarin. Hopefully that perimeter scoring punch from our posts in still forethcoming.

I like this team and I seriously think this team will again win the Summit league and conference tournament.

I think I mentioned this before but Chynna has a 6'3" teammate named Huber that is a true back-to-the-rim-drop-step post. She also is built like a farm girl too so I'd imagine SDSU has the inside track! Edited to include that Huber is a soph. this year.

Whoa, with all the football happenings, I completely missed this game/thread.

Is the consensus then we just played that bad (seems to be the case reading through the thread), or is Central Michigan just that good?

I think we had a bad game is all,it happens.Marquette will provide the answer to the question. Is it going to be prolonged agony,or just a little blip on the radar screen. We shall see.

                            Re: Central Michigan GMT

CMU came out with a mission to win/crush and prepare for their next home game, vs runner-up Notre Dame. We were their tune-up. Jacks came out flat, and were down 14 to 16 points almost immediately. The Jacks looked unready for CMU. Hope they got that "bad game" out of their system. Like poster above states, game vs Marquette Wed. will show which Jacks team this is.

Need to win either MTSU or better yet, Penn St. to have a quality road win in OOC. Not much RPI support in the Summit League this year. Although USD did give Creighton a 4 pt win in Vermillion the other night.

Is it just me,or do we seem to be on everyones "agenda" everytime we step foot on the basketball court?I know the women know enough to figure all OOC games ,except for a few , are going to be tough games but it's to the programs credit ,after beating Neb.,that we might be considered a quality win so therefore might get a little extra effort from the teams we play till the conference schedule starts. We might have put that target on our own backs, therefore,we can't take any opponent lightly.

nothing wrong with being noticed. We might count on someone else's RPI. Go Jacks.
