    Re: Central Michigan GMT

Stuart needs more playing time, she has a tendacy to dribble right into two defenders for a tie up or a travel, or something similar that ends up with negative results.I suppose i've been saying we need to drive to the hoop, but, there's got to be a lane or open space or way to pass if you get stopped.I applaud the women for trying, they are each and every one fighters and never stop .

You have to scroll down to get all the players. I had the same problem for awhile - about half the players were not visible until you went farther down the page.

Anyone else watch the game on Go Jacks....? We can really run that offense really good when it works, tonight, it just really seemed ineffective, relying on the 3 pt shot just about exclusively.Should try some more back door cuts with it,they didn't respect the dribble drive at all, mainly because i think we didn't keep our dribble alive, which let them continue to shut down our shooters. We became one dimentional on offense tonight and we paid for it.

Didn't realize video was available until the game was over. The schedule of events on the main page showed that just audio was available.

              Re: Central Michigan GMT

It took much longer than normal for AJ and the player guest to show up for the post game radio interviews. AJ wasn't very happy with the effort. I would guess that was thoroughly discussed in the locker room.

55 shots taken in the ball game,30 of them 3 pt shots.....one dimentional!Three point shooting should not be that much of your offense,IMHO

It's an important part, but we have to be able to do other things too on offfense to keep them off gaurd.Fittingly,we shot about the same from three point distance as we did with our over all shooting percentage, actually, better from longer distance 36.7% to 36.4% over all FG %.

Listened to the post game and it sounded like AJ pulled the starters early and played reserved for a considerable amount of time. Tells me AJ was not happy with the effort from his starters. In my opinion this team is missing that post player that can play both inside and outside? We simply do not have a Boever, Sonnerborg, Workenthien and so on. Seems like our post players are stricly inside the paint players. Without looking at a shot chart I finding it hard to find a three or perimeter shot from Clarin, Stewart, Lingle.

Lots of BB left and hopefully we can get it all figured out. Coach AJ has a real challenge this year. I think we will be fine in the Summit League but struggle outside the conference.

Clarin has really struggled in the four games since Washington State. It's time for Lingle to move into the starting line-up. She is a true post player, which neither Clarin or Dietel are. Katie is a senior who has been productive in the past - it's time to see what she can provide as a starter.

My MVP,miss efficiency award goes to Megan Waytashek ,5-11,2-5.Pretty much our best interior scorer for this game.
In Lingles defense, she 's pretty well matched night after night with the oppositions best (and usually tallest) post player. She gets little help from players going toward the hoop to dump it off to, it's pretty much Katie vs the world when they throw it in to her.

As a team,we don't attack the hoop much, even when a player gets in trouble or takes a shot.We get back on defense good though, but we don't get too many offensive rebounds or second chance put backs.

I'm referring to this game, sorry,we have had better games with those things,
                      Neb for one.
If i can point to one positive,I'd say,we are starting to hit more three's under adversity, and had some wide open too ,but not enough to be a true positive.

If we lack the players to take it all the way to the hoop, then we really need players who can pull up for a nice 4-10 ft. jumper and hit(being good at this is harder in some respects, than hitting from distance, much harder than it seems) with some consistency.Steph Paluch could do that quite well,as well as make some really good passes.Next yr for her though.
We've got some height, but playing them out on the perimeter doesn't utilize it too well,if they can't hit a jumper or three pointer,or dribble drive, all they do,it seems , is look to pass it off.....i'm rambling now,and getting tired of typing,ha!

Wonder if this is a good time to ask the question? Are we getting too short in the five position at 6'2"?That would seem ridiculous just 3 or four years ago.Seems 6 ft , 6ft -1 or so gaurds are getting more common.I know a skilled shorter player can take a lesser skilled taller player to the cleaners, more often than not.But the athleticism being equal, a 6'2" player trying to defend and score against someone 1-6" (Baylors Griner) is a pretty tall task night in and night out.Sunnarborg was good at postioning herself a shot by using various post moves, and lingle can too,but how often do defenders fall for the same(maybe two or three) moves during the course of the game.A post move against a taller player has to be absolutely perfect to work, against someone your own size or smaller, there's more room for error.

Boever attempted maybe two 3 point shots in her entire career at SDSU. She was not an outside shooter.

Dietel made a good shot in the paint,I envisioned Clarin as a hard charging, slashing to the hoop, power forward, which she seems to be,but her shots go careening way off the mark off the glass. She's young yet and needs more seasoning.Megan Stuart is big and strong,Dietel seems to get it now(seasoned vet)Waytashek the most skilled.Hanna, steady strong.Lots of weapons, just need refining

That definitely wasn't her strength though - even in high school she scored 99% of her points from fifteen feet or less.
