All at a host school through championship! And if previous years hold true, the larger audience at the prior round hosted the next game.

So far on a per game basis, no one can touch the Jacks. 8-)

It is played at the site of one of the teams in the championship game (awarded hosting). Sorry didn't see other responses...all at the keyboard obviously!!!!

Since UW-GB lost to UCONN tonight... wouldn't that give us the longest win streak in DIV I in the nation right now??? That would be pretty exciting.... Another motivation booster heading into SATURDAY!!!!

If the host institution makes more money on ticket sales than what was originally bid, I believe they get that too. The only way a host institution makes money is off of concession and program sales. The NIT has a policy of at least a $1.00 raise on all tickets for the first two rounds.
Actually, Ron Peterson was on the news last night and indicated that there is some sort of profit sharing regarding ticket sales, concessions, etc. built into the bid process.

Indiana's coach was the Hofstra coach last year and took Hofstra to the first round of the WNIT.

Pretty cool that Morgan Meier's dad played for Indiana in 1987 under Bob Knight and won the National Championship!

“The Women’s NIT?” wrote ESPN.com humorist Bill Simmons. “Did we really need a Women’s NIT? Would you even hang that banner up in your gym if you won the title?”

Even in the basketball world, the WNIT carries so little weight that teams routinely turn down invitations. Louisiana Tech was this year’s team to RSVP with a thumbs-down.

In Brookings, S.D., not only would they hang up the banner, they’d bronze the sneakers worn by Megan Vogel and erect a life-sized statue of coach Aaron Johnston outside Frost Arena.

Journalists are funny sometimes. Other times they just seem petty.

Some good points are made but he might want to recognize the difference between a storied and established DI program turning down a WNIT bid and a fledgling transitional program wowing the NCAA crowd and accepting the best they could get. I didn't read the whole article so maybe he did do that. Spiteful is about the best thing that comes to my mind. If we win the 2007 WNIT I hope they make a banner and hang it in Frost.

Yeah, it might be, um, quaint to go all googly-oogly over the WNIT, but if SDSU – or NDSU – can turn something little into something big, more power to them.
This quote was from later on in the article. I think in our market we have been "Stuized" and accept that if something starts off slanted or negative its only going to be that way.

The article wasn't a glowing piece but it did have a point. Take what you can get when you can get it.

At the Cal-Berkley gym, Hass Pavillion, the Golden Bears have a banner listing the years that they made it to the WNIT. They also have individual banners for their NIT championships.
