Nice outing for TK, scattered out 3 hits and had 8 K's. Looks like a nice facility up in Fargo.

for TK in her Summit career, however, anything more than one hit and / or less than 10 Ks almost feels like a not good outing. that is how GREAT she is / has been))!!
lots of hard hit balls with no results today and some good defensive plays by the bison today to hold the Jacks to a single run

Jacks sleepwalk through game one yesterday to lose their first game in conference play in 2 years
come back and win game 2 and that clinches the regular season championship (UNO could have won it if they were able to sweep the Jacks this weekend)
in series final
bottom of 2 Jacks get a 2 run HR from Jocelyn. Boyle hits a double but for some reason they do not use a pinch runner for her and she does not score on a Jarecki single up the middle
both teams save their aces in this one, neither TK or Meyer takes the circle
Lasey pitches the first inning but does not come out in the second
personally, I do not like the message it sends if we lose 2 of 3 in the final week of the season to a team that has been the VERY CLEAR second best team in the conference, but also clearly behind the Jacks! Coach Mc seems satisfied with winning the season crown
after Williams gave up 4 runs to start the 2nd, Coach Mc goes to Herman in the circle who has thrown less than 15 innings on the season
I was VERY SURPRISED to see Barnard pitching in game 2 yesterday (she did pitch well !!) I had assumed she was hurt since she played the huge majority of the OOC schedule and batted either first or second. upon getting to conference season she has not played at all- maybe the first game vs USD but she has not had a single AB since the first weekend of conference play. WHY?
same with Gentry. she had not looked close to as productive as Barnard, but she played in the majority of OOC games and like Barnard has not played in conference season
what is the reason for giving these 2 so many ABs OOC and cementing them to the bench when conference season comes around??
also hoping there is nothing wrong with our top 2 pitchers. hopefully it is just caution, but TK only went 4 innings yesterday and did not start today. Shannon went 3 innings yesterday and only pitched the first inning today. neither one of them seemed to have their best stuff for the weekend
UNO leading 7-4 after 3 innings

I am hoping it was just a case of TK being slightly off and deciding to save a few innings, because she has obviously thrown WAY over 100 pitches on a lot of occasions. last year vs UNO she pitched 14 innings in one game. she has topped 150 pitches more than a few times in her career so I dont think the 100 pitches alone should have been a concern
on another note, gotta guess that Barnard got hurt somewhere along the way and is just coming back. they pinch hit her the last few innings today. if she can get back to early season form, she give the bats another good bat!!

I could not say for sure what happened last week vs UNO. my eyes said we sleepwalked through the game one loss, won the clincher in game 2, and did not play with much urgency in game 3 after clinching, but maybe it was something else
I was disappointed that TK did not start game 3 in the circle. if I was coaching, I do not want to go undefeated the entire conference season and then end by losing 2 of 3 to the number 2 team. the facts show that we are CLEARLY a better team than UNO. they are clearly good and Meyer will give them a chance to beat anyone, but TK has been just a hair better than Meyer over their career and our offense is far superior to the Mavs. we navigated the conference schedule with much greater ease than they did. USD for another example, did not score a run in 3 games vs the Jacks this year. we outscored them 22-0 for the 3 games. UNO outscored USD 9-7 in 3 games, winning 2 close games and losing once 1-5. and that was the story with basically the entire conference. the Jacks dominated everyone and UNO had a lot of close calls
that said, I would not say it for sure by ANY means, but I wonder if TK is slightly injured or something. I HOPE she did not start the final game vs UNO last week simply because it did not matter so why put her in the circle. as I said, I disagree with that philosophy. I would not do that, because I think it is a bad idea to start telling your team that they can turn it off and turn it back on. and even though I disagree with it and would never do it, if you are gonna approach the game like it is meaningless and therefore sit TK, why not sit all your starters? why take a chance on anyone pulling a hammy or taking a foul tip off the big toe or any other fluke thing??
dont know why TK sat that game, but for me it was a red flag and while she pitched fine yesterday, she got very very few swings and misses. against the excellent teams we played OOC that is what they did to TK. they fouled a lot of good pitches and made her work, waited for a mistake, and took advantage of mistakes better than conference teams do against TK. USD is very clearly nothing special as a softball team. I very much hope i am wrong and that TK comes out guns blazing today vs the Mavs, but while she was good to very good yesterday, she was not dominant and that has been the case for her last 3 outings now.
the first month of conference season, TK allowed ONE earned run and threw 2 no hitters. in two outings since then she has allowed 4 earned runs in 11 innings. that is VERY SMALL sample size!!! 4 runs in 11 innings over 2 weeks to end the season and the game yesterday. hopefully it is NOTHING!!
even if TK is not 100% we should be able to beat UNO just with a far superior offense, but if TK is merely good and not dominant there will be little or no hope for any success in a regional, but it also does give UNO a small crack
