Good point...could also be Dons played with more energy the first half and Jacks played with more the second half

        Nagy:

we're not good enough to be flat.

no yelling and screaming at half.

we won cause we played dee (AC said same thing).

wants to show up to play from start.....nice that we came back but let's play 40 minutes.

don't know what it was, we never talked about Oakland all week but I sense they were looking ahead.

Also thinks maybe his family thing is a distraction.

be nice if Nate would show up first half...shows ability that he wants to play most when games are tight.

rebounding rediculous....can't get outrebounded and win consistently.

gonna face real big team sat night and we gotta do better job.

engen earned his minutes but he was in a rush tonight....big tip-in 2nd half...good defensively cause he's so long. gratifying to see him get minutes cause he's been here and had great attitude. put his time in and gratifying to put him on floor and have confidence in him.

win allows us to relax for staurday....gonna be a big deal saturday and thinks ppl will battle weather to get to Frost.

have better ballhanlding team this year, better passers.

always struggle to beat IPFW. they are well coached. they were ready.

with all road games he's pleased w/ what he's seen. only game to get away from us is NDSU game. We have to feel pretty good about sitting at 6-2.

SORRY FOR THE CRAPPY TYPING, JUST TRYING TO GET EVERYTHING IN AS HE SAID IT.

The manic-depressive nature of Jacks fans (myself included) has to make you laugh.

A few quotes from Jacks fans in the first half (please note I say this tongue in cheek as I had similar thoughts):

"As athletic as this team is sure seems to not translate well into game results." We're 6-2 in conference.

"I think we have to dust off the S word . . . Soft." Soft teams don't come back from a 14 point halftime deficit.

"I would pull the starters put in the end of the bench." An interesting tactic to say the least.

"Pathetic. I will not be tuning in for the second half." I was right there with ya. Thank goodness I'm all talk.

"I'm gonna take heat for this but I feel Palarca needs to find his warmup." Why do you suppose Nate can get around defenders in the second half, but not the first? Could they be tired from chasing a waterbug around for half the game?

"I think we have great players, a great coach, But some how thats not translating to wins on the court. This culture of losing has to stop." A losing culture is more like a freight train than a sports car. They are hard to stop, and even harder to turn around. We're making progress.

"I'm not starting the "Fire Nagy" chants, but WTF is going on?" What does the team need to do for this nonsense to stop? We have a better record than all but 2 teams in the conference. In our second year of tournament eligibility...

            C'mon guys, keep the faith!!!

Great post, and probably the only reason I don't see any of my words above is that I couldn't get tuned in until half time.

Not that the Jacks are driving me to drink or anything . . .

Another good win for the Jacks. Again, I could not see this one because of a local high school game, and when I skipped to the middle of the thread, I figured we had lost. Then, I skipped to the end and we are talking about the W.

Great work Jacks. We won't be able to play like we did in the first half if we want to compete with Oakland. I think we will be up for the challenge. Just like last year at Frost!

I will be at the game, no matter what it takes. We are even talking about heading up on Friday to beat the storm, but who knows.

Good game. I think Kai needs to be more aggressive on offense. He is such a smooth player, I wish he would be more selfish. I was glad to see the crowd get into the game in the second half. Not a bad game for my first SDSU game of the year.

On the Kai needs to be more selfish on offense....I hear ya, but I hate our offense.....if you watch film, which every opposing coach does, it's easy to defend us. In my warped world I could draw up a plan to shut us down. Our shooters simply do not do enough to get open looks. It's really pathetic. Both GC and Sarg have proven they are guys who can, if only when they're hot, hit jumpers coming off screens. We do little to offer them that opportunity. In no way do we utilize the fact that we have a few solid 3-pt shooters, a solid penetrator and a decent low-post guy.

Disagree 100%. Our entire offense is predicated on curls, screens and penetration leading to a kick out. The only time we don't run curls, screens, etc is the handful of plays per game we go down low to AC. Our guys just aren't athletic enough to get their own shots, but don't kid yourself, our offense is all about getting GC and Clint looks.

quit watching at half-time I had a feeling that the game would get closer, because it seemed as bad as the Jacks played and as good as IPFW played that it was still reachable. It also seemed like the poor offense was leading to poor defense, and I thought if they could start getting good offensive sets that it could get closer. I was however surprised that they won.
