    This is exactly analagous to Jack women and Warkenthien. Who on this board doesn't think the Jack women will get better and be tough come January and February? Same thing should then logically follow with Oakland men.

        Fans of the school formerly referred to as the Sioux are discovering that D-I teams will quite cheerfully beat your brains out unless you come to play AND you have the chops to stay with them.

        We've certainly learned that up in Brookville . . .

              If you have the sports package on Dish Network, then you can watch Wisconsin-GB versus Oakland on channel 430. Oakland is putting it on UW-GB. They're up 20 and Benson is dominating.

                After watching the final minutes of this game, SDSU is going to need to take good care of the perimeter when we play the Bison. I saw some uncontested 3's go in. The Bison seem to love the arc and were making them go in, but still could not get back into the game.

                    Great win for the Summit League and for ORU!

                      Re: Summit League scores...

                      Heading into conference play, here are results of the last week in the Summit.

                      Monday, Dec. 28
                      Memphis 87, IUPUI 67
                      IPFW 101, Purdue-North Central 55
                      Oakland 106, Alma 57
                      UMKC 63, SIU Edwardsville 54
                      Centenary 73, Louisiana-Lafayette 68

                      Tuedsay, Dec. 29
                      Nebraska 94, Southern Utah 61

                      Wednesday, Dec. 30
                      Missouri 91, UMKC 57

                      Monday was a very good day for the league winning 4 of 5 games. The three losses for the week against the big conference foes saw games that were very similar to SDSU's loss to Minnesota. Close games for the first 8 to 10 minutes and then the floodgates opened. Each of those games ended in 20 to 30 point losses.

                      Now that conference schedule starts in earnest, only three schools have winning records - IUPUI at 9-5, and ORU and UMKC with 7-6 records. Let's go Rabbits!

                        Re: Summit League scores...

                        My prediction for tonight.....

                        @UMKC 73
                        SDSU 68

                        Oakland 82
                        @ORU 78

                        @Centenary 73
                        IPFW 62

                        NDSU 77
                        @SUU 76

                        Alot of tough games to predict. Anything could happen in the UMKC/SDSU game....it's tough for anyone to win at ORU, but Oakland is good enough and the Eagles are banged up....IPFW is not playing well and Centenary is playing surprisingly well and are at home....SUU is not good, but neither is NDSU really and going to Cedar City is a brutal road trip.

                          SDSU 74
                          UMKC 69

                          Oakland 67
                          ORU 64

                          Centenary 75
                          IPFW 62

                          SUU 85
                          NDSU 79 (OT)
                          * regulation score was 69-69

                          Not bad? 3-4 on a tough night to predict scores and almost nailed the CC-IPFW score dead on.

                          And yes, for the record, ORU won b/c of lousy refs. Poor guys....if it weren't for bad refs they'd be National Champs.

                            Not to quibble, but didn't you pick UMKC over SDSU 73-68? That makes you 2-2, not 3-1 . . .

                            OK, I AM quibbling . . .

                              Oops....you're right.....I actually thought SUU would win (see my comments I made on the prediction thread) I must have just typed it down wrong. I honestly thought SUU would win a close one simply b/c of the road factor and the fact that going to Cedar City is brutal. On a neutral court NDSU is probably 5 points better. No biggee. I need to proofread I guess.

                                All the road teams tonight were the better teams, IMO. Road play in college basketball is the hardest in any sport, any level, IMO. ESPECIALLY for newcomers like SDSU. Just think, even if you're a junior in the Summit that means you've only played each conference opponent just twice on their floor. And if you didn't play much or at all as a frosh, then just once. I'll stop rambling as I plan to start a thread as to why SDSU stuggled and why they seem to be playing better now on the road....stay tuned
