Craion had a good game. Picked up for their beast Kevin Ford, who had an off night, save for the FT line where he usually shoots below 50% I saw him hit 4 in a row at one point. Craion put it on the floor alot, took it to the rack, always going to his right (teams will pick up on that real quick). He has a nice little baby hook though.

UMKC looked alright. They are small. Their biggest guy was Kirk Korver from Pella, IA (how many dang Korver boys are there?). Korver is a true frosh and 6'7 and about 205 and he was their only big on the floor alot. He plays more like a 3, shooting the trey, etc. ORU only suited up 9 guys I believe. They have been hit hard by the injury bug.

Michigan State thumped Oakland tonight big time. Oakland did not look good State went on a 25 to 3 run in the first and never looked back, Next up for Michigan State is IPFW on sat.

As bad as Michigan State made Oakland look I think that says more about how good Michigan State is. When I think of SDSU trying to match up with Oakland it's frightening. Nelson, Benson and Wright are so good.

I understand Oak was playing a top-15 team and all.....but man, did they look awful. Zero hustle, zero intensity, a billion turnovers, a bunch of traveling calls. I still have about 10 minutes to watch but I think I'll pass. Ugly.

You wonder if Oakland is getting burnt out on this tough schedule. Maybe they'll come to life in conference play, when suddenly THEY are the tough guys.

Don't forget about the nation's leader in assists to go with those guys. They're scary good.

I believe you mean LAST year's leader in assists. He is currently tied for 15th, and unless he gets about 12 per game in conference play, he is unlikely to make up the difference later.

Right now, I'd say Oakland is scary talented. Talented doesn't always translate into good. Although it is much easier to be good if you are talented.

One other thought on Oakland for now, the 3 point shot is the great equalizer in college basketball. Last year they shot over 37% AS A TEAM from the three. So far this year, they are shooting just over 28%. That's a big difference, especially when going against much tougher competition.

I think a lot of people look at that team and all the returning players from last year and think they are loaded. But they are missing the most important aspect of last year's team, which was Kangas. Without a three point threat, they are a very beatable team.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--
