Re: Jacks player starting a fight?

    Mr. Burgundy
This is Mr. Burgundy posting from SDBison's computer....I have no clue my password. Sorry. The player from SD was Mackenzie Casey. I was in the bathroom when he approached the 5 SUU players who I actually was talking with. Asking them to take it easy on NDSU if we were to play them, everyone is laughing. Casey walks into the bathroom and said something that should not be repeated, to say it politely. He then headbutted one of the SUU guards (Davis) and the SUU players tried to get everyone out. I cannot stress how professional and calm these 5 kids were. I am saying this to get the facts CLEAR, and I was cheering for the Jacks HARD last night. I have always respected their program. The five SUU players ran out of the bathroom to the area between the beer stands and the bathrooms when this kid comes spilling out. Casey at that point is swearing and asking for a fight with his SHIRT OFF! You can't make this up. It was the worst display of ANYTHING i have ever witnessed. The police were involved, and I have no idea what did happen. The coaches were talking about this at the press table later on, so people are aware of it. Lets be clear, this was not a rip on SDSU, but one player was a joke and I was proud of how the SUU players handled this. This could have been a huge...huge fight. Alot of Bison and Jack fans saw this, so it isn't like I was the only witness. Hundreds of fans were buying beer and saw him asking for the fight, using poor language and running around with his shirt off. Made me sick. Alot of kids, parents, etc. I still was cheering HARD for the Jacks, it was a great atmosphere last night and SF is doing a great job as the host. This situation was pathetic and unfortunate.

I was in the restroom when the confrontation occurred. It looked like Mac was trying to get out of a bad situation, several SUU guys, one SDSU guy. I didn't see the headbutt but caught a portion of the scuffle. I can't comment on what was said, I only saw it occur.

This stems from a southern Utah player trying to assault an sdsu player at halftime of the game at frost. And Friday night the same player persisted to threaten Casey. What happened at the arena was an act of self defense. Casey walked into the restroom and the southern Utah players waited for him to go in because Corey Davis wanted to fight Casey. Once In there he threatened him and grabbed his shirt and mackenzie protected himself from getting jumped the players backed away because they knew he meant business. This was started by southern Utah who had been making threats and attempted to corner Casey. Mr Davis got what was coming too him because for the seccond Tim he tried assaulting mackenzie. That is the real story and you can count on that.

So??? Who was in the bathroom first? Casey or Davis?

Thats a good question and it might be yes as we learned from the Argus that the incident was to be handled internally and referred to team representatives. I assume the Commissioner staff have a set of procedures for conference members to follow in dealing with these kinds of incidents. Perhaps the SUU team voted to not allow Davis to play. He appears to me as being in the wrong, and if this altercation stems from the SDSU-SUU game in Brookings. Its really wrong to hold grudges and look for revenge.. This young man needs to let things go and not hold grudges. Maybe Davis got a raw deal on the technical foul, but why keep letting it bother you. Life is too short.

Why does it matter who got to the bathroom first? Was there a line forming? Was there only one vacant stall?

Why not lock this thread? People are bashing a player? Nidaros is ripping a player (He appears to me as being in the wrong, and if this altercation stems from the SDSU-SUU game in Brookings. Its really wrong to hold grudges and look for revenge.. He wasn't bashing Casey. He was making a comment in regards to Davis from SUU.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

                  Mr. Burgundy,

Thanks for outing your buddy Just in the crowd who had been pretending to be a Jackrabbit for some time now. I think most of us already knew he wasn't but it is nice to know who he really is.

He's not. That post was a summary of assorted other posts.

J-I-T-C is, I would guess, an SDSU student--and the tone of his posts sounds almost like a non-trad student. Or possibly a grad-student.

SDBison, OTOH lives near Garretson and his partisan enough that I would consider it impossible for him to fake any degree of support for SDSU.

I didn't have a comment either way on this subject. I was merely posting how two different posters were able to be in the same place at the same time and see through their own rose colored glasses.

Go back to the beginning of this thread. I had nothing to do with seeing, fighting, or anything to do with the situation. I merely replied about two people seeing the same thing and seeing it differently. I first heard of the fight here, don't come to conclusions before reading everything.

I have never been on the Bison Forum. Dont even know the address.

I think we are making a bigger deal out of this than what the player and coaches involved are. Whether Mac sat because of it or not is between him and his coach. I have not seen or heard anymore of this in the press or anywhere else except here. Time to close the thread/

Re: Jacks player starting a fight?

An early poster questioned, correctly so, the reliability of some "eyewitnesses" to the incident. NDSU's Mr. Burgundy is a source for the proposition that the incident was all Casey's fault. I would not readily accept Burgundy's description of who-started-what. Here's why:

Burgundy and buddies were in Cubbies the night before the NDSU v SDSU football game in 2007. Burgundy or one of his associates started a 'here we go Bison, here we go...' chant (how bright is that?) and, as a result, a glass of water was tossed. Burgundy subsequently gave a report of this incident on Bisonville. (Incidently, the water toss was by a North Dakota resident who was ejected from Cubbies by the barkeeps.) The point is this: Burgundy did not recognize he or those he was with were looking for trouble. I think if he's buddying up to the SUU guys, he probably did not recognize there was trouble in the air because of what the SUU player did weeks before in Frost Arena. His perspective and his bias make his report very unreliable to me.

I think all can agree that whatever happened, it was unfortunate but from what I know about Casey and about the incident in Brookings, I'm going with Casey on this one.
