      Did NDSU win tonight?

Also, I am currently at the SkyForce game and when my 9 year old says this is a boring place to watch a game, I sure hope Dak is going to work lots of magic. Got to see the locker rooms earlier today and they looked good, but it had been at least 20 yrs since I had seen them.

I believe if ORU wins and IUPUI wins, then ORU is #1. Did IUPUI lose alrerady?

If ORU wins they win the tie breaker over NDSU for the #1 seed.

Too bad the Centenary thread was shut down within minutes of the game ending. I didn't get to listen to the game. What happened? Did Centenary win or did we lose the game? Were we playing with intensity or desire?

                Clint play good?

                      We lost by 10.

Centenary wanted the game more. We did not, IMHO, match their intensity or desire from about mid-point in the second half on, from when we had a 4-point lead and Centenary went on a 19-0 run to take control of the game.

Jacks, Clint included but not singled out, panicked (IMHO) towards the end and started jacking up 3's when what they needed to do is go down low, score points, draw fouls, and control the flow of the game. My opinion, of course.

I closed the Centenary thread because I thought that it's time that everyone--fans, players, everyone--put the past (including the Centenary game) behind and look towards a brand new season--conference playoffs.

It sounds like we get Oral Roberts in the first round. You can bet that they won't be looking past us again. But our guys can play with them, if they have their heads right.

So, what do we as fans need to do to help get their heads right?

The match up for the men are now posted. Centenary got the #8 seed. Better luck to Western Ill. and UMKC next year. Go Jacks!

I'd add that we rebounded very poorly, as we gave up way too many second chance points. We played pretty good defense for the most part, but just like the ORU game, we must rebound, otherwise our defense effort was for not. Centenary also might have the best on-ball, perimeter defense in the conference, which we really struggled with for much of the Gents huge run in the second half.

Call me crazy, but with Sargent getting that first game off the ankle injury out of the way and even with the poor rebounding in the last two games, I got SDSU by 3 for the opening game. I just think Nagy having a whole week to buff out the blemishes in our recent meeting with ORU, along with basically being at home, will put the Jacks over the top. I know you can say that Sutton has the same amount of time to prepare for the SDSU, but he'll have to do a lot more guess work than Nagy will being that Sargent didn't play in Tulsa, and with him the Jacks are a lot different offensively.

I agree we are a better team with Sargent's offense, but yesterday the other guys seem to have taken the day off and I don't know why. I guess these guys are feeling the losses of so many games much more that we can even imagine.

I know that experience from sitting for a professional exam about a dozen times and finding out weeks later that you failed. In this situation I felt defeated because I spent hours of my spare time studying beside making a 25 mile drive to work each day. I think our guys feel very defeated right now, and maybe a new spirit can be rekindled, but maybe they need the whole summer to think about this and re-adjust. Like my exam which I eventually passed it was a big big day when it happened and when SDSU gets a conference win on the road, it will be a whole new team and one that is fun to watch. Its about heart and spirit. The season record may be 12 and 18 but these young men are learning a ton about real life. You just don't win everyday unless your name is Mahoff. I dont need to say anymore.

I wish the best effort for the tourney, but I for one do not expect too much. If ORU two and three teams Sargent and he cant get shots off, then what? Some one else like Dale Moss really needs to step up and if the Callahan brothers, Williams et al can re-group in spirit who knows? We need to stop giving up offensive rebounds and continue to improve on defense in all manners. What I kept hearing yesterday while listening to WNAX, was Centenary was coming after the ball and took it away more times then they should have.
