Nagy was pleased with the turnovers (9 for the game I believe). Was not pleased to be outrebounded again. Was happy for the great shooting the team had (SDSU shot over 50% for first half and IUPUI was about 40%) but doesn't want to team to expect to shoot lights out every game. Was VERY HAPPY with the fans tonight and with the back to back wins for the men's team. Thats all I heard before I got home.

The scoring was really spread out. There were a lot of double digit scorers. I think Kai would have had a great game if the refs didn't call 2 really bad fouls on him (he still had a very nice game). The Jacks made 12 3-pointers and there was one by Kai and Griffan which rattled out. The best part of the night was when IUPUI got it down to 12 and the Jacks just pushed and pushed and got it up to 24 so fast. Very nice run and it changed the game and got the fans into it. Nice win guys!!

I was at the game, and 'round about the 3 minute mark Garrett nailed his umpteenth 3, the whole crowd was on their feet, and Garrett was standing down at the baseline on the other end gesturing for more noise and egging on the crowd.

That was totally cool.

What wasn't cool was that everybody subsequently left, but the roads were bad, it had started snowing, and I'd guess people wanted an early start (even though the game was only an hour and a half long).

What wasn't cool was that everybody subsequently left, but the roads were bad, it had started snowing, and I'd guess people wanted an early start (even though the game was only an hour and a half long).

I have to say that the crowd felt like it did 5 or 6 years ago. It hasn't been that electric in Frost for a Men's game in a long time. It was a great feeling.

Great game. I think as the Jacks get more Summit game history these games will begin to draw pretty well. IUPUI is a good program and WIU carries over a football rivalry. People will begin to look forward to these two coming to town in a year or two.

I think this game is exactly why Kampe said the Jacks were dangerous. The Jacks have been deceptively bad over the past few years.

Granted, there are still those who will say "Nagy was a good division two coach, but he can't recruit division one players" or "Nagy needs to start recruiting outside of South Dakota", and those people will continue to be the shriveled carrot underneath our peach cobbler.

However, there have been too many good wins this season to keep talking 'fluke' or to keep insisting that Nagy doesn't have what it takes to win at this level.

This next road trip will tell where the Jacks are relative to the league. They have to beat UMKC and give SUU at least a good run. 2-0 next weekend would show some major progress.

Great game to see. As noted by a prior poster, there were times I was reminded of the Ghost of Frost Arena Past. The crowd made some noice and our team played long stretches of good offense and good defense -- at the same time!

Keep the faith, fans, this team is moving up!

Two very good home wins for the Rabbits! But I suspect we're swinging a bit into the manic phase of our bipolar relationship with our favorite school's team . . .

The guys need to prove that they can put out that kind of effort on the road before we can start thinking "they're back!"

There should be no doubt now that there's the talent on this team to be competitive in the conference. What still needs to be proved is the desire and toughness to take this show on the road and win.

I'm also remembering that one of the last things that clicks into place for a young team (and the Jacks are still a pretty darn young team) is learning how to win on the road.

We'll find out a LOT about this team next week.

I agree with Filbert. Back to back at home is great, but it is far from consistent effort/play that Nagy wants.

Oh, as for the "fire Nagy crowd" (which many of you put me in), except for one or two, the crowd was saying evaluate at the end of this, not next. All I will say on that topic because I am going to enjoy our first D1 conference winning streak. Let's keep it going on the road.

This was a great night and a great win. 3-3 in the conference is an unqualified dream come true after what the fans, players, coaches, etc have been through.

But we have to remember that this still figures to be an up and down season. Other posters here have it right, that the road games will start to tell the story. Be happy, enjoy the best all around weekend of Jackrabbit basketball in a long time.

However, it does make me start thinking ahead to our psuedo-home court advantage we will have at The Summit League tournament. All I can say is I'm glad I got lower level tickets.

I said before and will repeat, that SDSU men could still lay some eggs before all is said and done with this season. Lets hope we do regroup and winning on the road is big part of a successful season. I for one feel we are back, at least a level that we have not seen much of in the last five years.

Five keys to the rest of the season for the men:
1. Wins on the road
2. Protecting home court
3. Performance, not necessarily wins and losses though wins would be great, against archrival NDSU
4. Crowds, especially students.
5. Team chemistry when it's over. If it is, "we've survived through fire, and started giving it back," good place to begin the permanent turnaround.

2-0 next weekend would be very optimistic considering the team's lack of road success. One win against UMKC would be an acceptable weekend, IMO, to get that elusive conference road victory and keep an edge on the should be cellar dwellers of the conference to make sure of that end of the year trip to Sioux Falls. 2-0 would be sweet though.

I didn't see Dwight Pederson on the bench last night or our other practice player Nick Selken. It seems like they have been on the bench before even though they are redshirting/not playing. Does anybody know if they are still with the team?
