A team that relies on jump shots shouldn't miss 11 free throws. Make half of those and this ugly loss becomes an OK road win.

I'm tired of losing. I'm tired of the students saying that they have given up on the men already. I'm tired of watching SD boys trying to play with the city men. Why do we continue to recruit local boys. Soon our team will have 2 kids from small town Madison, 1 from small town Brookings, and 1 from smaller town Winner. If the coach is too busy with his many children to get out of state to recruit, then find one who will.

I'm tired of losing, and nothing I see in the future seems to be changing it.

A lot of talk about a new coach tonight. You can see the desire in Nagy to win, you can see it in his frustration, all he can do is try to put in the right combination at the right time and try to motivate the players. It's the players who need to execute that plan, make the shots, rebound the ball, make the passes etc. The coach can't do those things. Is he motivating them the right way, don't know. It will come in time that these guys get sick of losing and do something about it or let it defeat them and continue to lose. If these guys have character and the will to keep fighting to win, they will. As fans it is up to us to keep showing up and supporting the coaches, the players, and the University. I don't think a new coach could come in and instantly make winners out of these guys. That will come from them and only them.

first of all there wouldn't be many students if they were playing duke during finals week... just the truth, no double header, pretty bad weather, finals week.... not going to be a greatly attended game..... I'm not saying that there is anything positive in a loss but the facts are this team is loosing close games with good players having bad games....

Team needs to get confidence.... I watched Risky Business last night and they need to just say "F**k it".... relax and have fun........

I watch a lot of basketball and I have watched/listened/followed the Jacks for the past how many years... back to the old NCC days... This years team is talented, one of the most talented teams we have had and probably the most talented team since going D-I, and will be a lot better next year... Its all in there heads, its not stuff the coaches can do.... like AC said in the post game interview a lot of this the players have to do on there own time....

The incoming recruits from Madison are good players, and they want to be Jacks. I'd take them any day over the players that seem to have talent (Cadwell, Holdren and Hornby, among others) but bail out after a year or two.

I don't see what replacing a coach would do, except put the program back another couple of years....

I know you follow alot of basketball in the state, but you are not on campus. The mens team is considered a joke by a majority of students on campus. For anyone that disagrees stop in the union over a noon hour and bring up the subject of the mens basketball team with a random person. There is a huge disconnect from the students to the mens basketball players. As I have said earlier I love going to the games and will continue to go, but it is drawing the casual fans in that is the problem. As stated on an earlier thread by another poster, the basketball players walk around like they are the bomb and above everyone else. But in most peoples eyes, they do not back it up on the court. This is not necessarily my opinion but i am sharing the general opinion amongst students I talk to. I have been on campus for three years and I am still waiting to see a quality mens team that plays with energy and actually seems like they enjoy the game.

But what does changing a coach do? you'll have a handful of players leave, you'll have a dead recruiting year, and you'll put the program back.... When they made the move to D-I ,I said 7 years.... when I saw White and Feigen play 2 years ago I said that'll be the year to judge.... To many people look at the box scores, watch a game, you can see the improvement in talent.....

BH's mens program was a joke last year and is a top 10 team in the nation this year with the exact same players, exact same coaches and so on.... the difference? confidence....

A new coach wont matter, like it was said, it will just set the program even farther back. MBB was going to be the toughest program to get going on a D1 level...I think its great that he is recruiting SD kids, but I think they need a shot in the arm...like some JR College kids, they used to come here when we were D2, like a previous post state about White (great player), I am not sure how much they focus on recruiting that kind of player but I think there may need to be mor emphasis, and not just 1 or 2 players, experience and leadership count for a lot.

So enough with talk of a new coach. And as for the students- "fair-weather", plus there are people who will go and watch a mens team over a successsful womens team anytime, I know I hear it from people all of the time when I say I am going to a game, and they ask "mens?"...."o wmns"....they say "oh"- still getting a couple thousand...win a few after the break and they will all come back...

Are u kidding? How dumb are you? A new coach will matter. We need recruits that can play now. Good players that can compete.....The late 90s teams would of beat Denver 99 out of 100 times

JuCo's have been a major reason this program has struggled.... Its nobodies fault really, but injuries, grades, family matters and so on... how many JuCo's have we had not been able to play?

As far as the game.... the team played pretty flat... I think some of it was the road trip, elevation, road game and CONFIDENCE.... but it seemed like the last 8 minutes the calls killed us, there was the blowned back court violation, in which they went and scored a 3 and then I think it was Sargent got mauled underneith the basket and they went back and got a basket....
