    U of Denver game thread

Here is a link to their home page:

Looks like they are 1-6 on the year (few of their games were pretty close including their win). Team size is pretty even.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

On a side note, Denver's Redshirt Freshman Andrew Hooper played High School ball with our own James Rader. I believe we looked at Hooper in High School but he wanted to stay closer to home.

It looks like they have really nice facilities for basketball out there. I didn't know they were in such good shape from that standpoint.

Is this the team that runs the Princeton offense?

They do, the Ritchie Center also hosts a number of pretty good concerts in the Denver area. DU has a lot of money flowing into it from alums, plus like Gonzaga it cost a pretty penny to attend. The problem for their bb program (men and women) is that they don't come close to filling the arena unless they are playing Wyoming, CSU or Air Force. DU athletic support starts and ends with hockey.

This question tells you I should run for president as I am not a coach. (Do some of us remember the meanspirited Gene Zulk sign? I do.)

What is the Princeton Offense and will it be a problem for SDSU? Specifically how?

DU does have a very nice facility, Magness Center.

Went to the DU site (link in the first post on this thread) and found the following point noteworthy: The average age of the Pioneers is 18.9 years old, making DU the youngest team in the country. Denver has no seniors, two juniors, three sophomores and eight freshmen on its roster.

Magness Arena, located in the Ritchie Center. Beautiful building built using the Magness Cable TV money.

This is a winnable game. In fact, this is one of those games SDSU should be expected to win, even on the road.

Thanks bbalfan54. I got it as a favorite for future reference. This is solid bb, but you have to have good execution, and our guys got play defense very carefully.

Seems like running the Princeton offense effectively might be a problem for such a young team.
                          Holy nutmeg!

My husband tells me that he thinks this will be a good match up for SDSU there will be a lot of cutting to the basket and lots of shooting from the 3 point line because they penetrate and then kick it back to the open man. Any questions take it up with him next time you see him at Frost...
