I won't debate whether Nagy should stay or go. I will let others decide his fate. I will debate all day long that the SDSU job is a good one and there will be plenty of qualified applicants with the right experience to take over the program if it comes to that.
Ryan Miller (was the Miller who lit up the Jacks) would have to take a pay cut to take the job....not going to happen.
Going to be hard to get any quality, big named coach to SDSU based on a one year contract...no guarantee and low paying barely over six figures. It would be a second or third assistant at a mid to low major school....not many would take the plunge down just for experience and many assistant coaches already have head coaching experience.
Besides...why talk about a new coach in the middle of the season.....wow let it go........
I really think Ryan would take a pay cut to come back home where his family is and have a chance to turn a program around. The guy is a winner and knows how to recruit.
Right now he would be my top pick to get.......Just for fun does anyone have any other coaches who they think would be realist to get and that would possibly come here?
I'm pretty sure agreement on the topic here--one way or another--will not soon be forthcoming.
That having been said . . . please continue, but let's try to keep away from knee-jerk snark and steer more towards rational, respectful discussion. Nagy and the travails of the men's team right now is something that gets people really worked up either way, so let's try to recognize that in the ongoing discussion.

I'm surprised you didn't suggest Paul Sather at Black Hills State. At least you have seen him coach in person the last few years at your chosen university. Actually after reading his biography he does have a DI assistant background at Colorado and was on Northerns two two back to back National Championship runner up teams. You make jokes but there are some reallly good coaches out there.

Pretty sure Bobby Knight would have killed someone if he would have been coaching our men's team the last few years. It's been frustrating and something tells me he may have blown.
With that being said I hope they continue to give the effort they have given before the Denver game. If the guys do that we could be happy with this season.
With all of Nagy's player losses can you really blame him for losing that many games in the last few years? Nagy may possibly be the reason Cadwell left but other then that he was not the reason others left. If we had Cadwell and Holdren last year along with Gilbert still can you imagine how many more wins we would have had. I also should throw Blake Yackley into the mix who was an absolute athlete and now Anthony Davis who would have given us a huge inside prescene that we need. We wouldn't have had to rely as much on under classman last year. Last year we relied so much on Sargent and Pelarca, freshman, to come in and play the point guard. We also relied on two sophmores to score more than half of our points. Can you really expect us to win that many games with limited leadership. Not to mention that Beran had taken a year off and wasn't really in sync with the 'team'. This year we are winning more games and competeing in more games because we now have a leader (Callahan) and maybe a little in Sargent. Given these guys one more year under Nagy and letting them hand the reigns off to the incoming athletic talent we have, i feel could really create some winning in the future. So the question is, is Nagy really the whole problem with the losing? Are all of the player losses his fault? I am not saying no blame should be placed on Nagy but I think he is taking a lot more blame then he deserves, which I understand usually happens to teams that lose.
I am going to do something creative with my time and rant in Traditional Chinese, German, Spanish and Italian:

Is this speculative talk or do you personally have some connections to Ryan Miller? I really found it interesting that the Ryan Miller is all of a sudden interested in SDSU according to the Terry V blog. I dont think the Millers or their high school coach Munsen have ever been big fans of SDSU. Some one correct me on this if I am wrong.
Ryan Miller may be the top pick in your mind, but I think a selection committee and others connected to SDSU are not about to just turn over the keys of BB office to Ryan Miller without talking to him in great depth.
Beside, I believe Nagy still has a contract with SDSU enforce as we post. If SDSU breaches a contract, you expect a law suit. Just ask the lawyers on this board. If you got the money we could of course buy Nagy's contract.
