      Re: Mo and Dre.

      Short portion of story:

A Brookings County grand jury has indicted two South Dakota State University basketball players for their roles in an alleged sexual assault on campus.

Andre Gilbert, 20 from Brooklyn Park, Minn., was charged with two counts of rape and one count of first-degree burglary. If convicted, he could face 25 years in prison, $25,000 in fines or both.

Mohamed Berte, 23 from the Ivory Coast, was charged with two counts of aiding and abetting Gilbert in committing the rape. He also was charged with first-degree burglary and a misdemeanor count of sexual contact with a person capable of consenting who did not.

I think that today's events were probably inevitable after Calhoun received the DNA test results. Hopefully, these two will receive a fair trial and the truth of this whole debacle will come out....

Anyone have any idea if he used the DNA results in his presentation to the grand jury? I'm very curious as to those results.

How would anyone know? If you are on the grand jury and start talking to the press, you create grounds for a mis-trial do you not? Plus any disclosure could result in that person being held responsible for their disclosure.

I saw this posted over on Bisonville:

                            http://www.argusleader.com/apps/pbcs...73254723267134

The gist of the story is Gilbert and Mo's attorney, Justin Hyde, is seeking a delay until Sept/Oct. My hunch is they are working out the details of a plea agreement.

New Trial Date For SDSU Rape Case

A judge has set a new trial date for two former South Dakota State University basketball players charged with sexually assaulting a female student.

Andre Gilbert and Mohamed Berte pleaded not guilty and their trial had been scheduled to begin in August. Jury selection is now scheduled to begin on December eleventh.

Gilbert is a 20-year-old redshirt freshman from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. He's charged with one count of first-degree burglary and two counts of second-degree rape.
