We're pretty obviously not where we want to be.  But we're still on track for my 3-12 first half of the season with hope of a .500 second half.  We need to hope that more lessons will be learned by this team--tonight's lesson:  If you get up on a reasonably good team, they WILL come back on you.  If you let up on them at all, start missing shots and making mistakes, they'll blow you out.

I replied and then thought better of it. I like facts and not speculation. The U of Minn is way better than us tonight. That is a fact. The U of Minn has been way worse than usual, that is a fact. There is room for improvement for both teams and one improved tonight, just as I predicted, that is a fact.

It just makes it more irritating when you see a team like NDSU having the capibilities to compete in every game they play, and SDSU continues to struggle on and off the court. How did NDSU surpass us so quickly? What is happening to our Men's Basketball team. On a good note, we do have good talent, they are just all young. As long as the turnover we've been experiencing stops, we should be able dig ourselves out within the next couple years.

The Jacks are young...they'll be okay. I think filbert's prediction of a 3-win first half of the season and a .500 second half will be accurate.

No, not really . . . I just noted MD's note of frustration and decided (in my eternally sunny and optimistic way) that it was worthy of an Officespace quote (said in the movie by an eternally sunny, optimistic, and very much despised character).

It was a bit of self-deprecating humor on my part which may have been a bit too subtle and obscure . . . sorry about that.

I suppose the NDSU people have the same thoughts about women's basketball. Fact is, Nagy is one heckuva good coach and he has a lot of young people. Sure, there are some real challenges but keep in mind that tonight we're playing a MN team which has struggled but even so, they have a lot more experience and they're playing at home. They should be winning this game.
