Andy was a walk-on and in fact he had to work hard and scrimmage with regular team to get a walkon status. This is what was published in their game program last year.

I suppose he had very little chance of getting scholarship money and playing time  at NDSU. At Dakota State I suspect the chances are much brighter. Did he play in the exhibition game? I know this is getting off topic, but I did not connect when I saw our game.

As far as Hornby, I sure he is a very fine individual. He has made his decision. So do agree we should move on unless we find out something else as double dribble suggested in the fourth post of this thread.

I've heard nothing about that. It makes no sense that he would. His starting lineup and top 8 in the rotation are exactly as they were when the season started (actually they added Callahan), so why would he ask for help? I'm calling B.S. on that post.

It is true that Nagy had asked for help. I'm sure you can all figure out pretty easily who was asked. Won't go into anymore details though publicly.

nagy has also made some contact with other prospective prospects. One on the baseball team, and one who isn't involved in any varsity athletics.

I stand corrected. Congratulations Jacked Rabbit. Personal victory for you! I guess we're all winners here. Ummm, let me guess who he asked...Wags? Probably to help with size in the middle?

I split this thread off from the Cam Hornby thread because I thought it had turned into a more general discussion of personnel on the men's basketball team . . .

But we don't have any more problems than the typical DI program..... Stop being naive guys, there are some problems. The reasons are many and the blame uncertain but things need to change direction. Obviously, winning would be that change. I look forward to sticking my foot in my mouth.

I'm not out to get any "personal victories" here.. I just thought I'd let the other Rabbit fans in on some of the behind the scenes info that goes on around campus... Wagner would probably be a pretty good guess.. Big, athletic, strong. Also a first team All Great West TE with some "next level" potential! Might not be a bad idea to focus on the weights this winter in order to catch a few more TD's next year..

Antonio Gates improved his FB skills by playing college bball. Maybe Nagy could pitch that angle to Wags and Stig...

I heard this one thing about a couple guys on the teams, but I can't talk about it right now. Very hush, hush.

                          Thread killer out!

I agree with jackmd. There is something wrong with the program. How many other D1 programs ask for football players two years in a row? We didn't even do this when we were DII, now we are as a DI program.

We also have a million freshmen on our team. Ideally our Jacks would have scholarship equality meaning a similar number of freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. It is not a good thing to have a bunch of people graduate the same year.

Someone else mentioned Bill Self at Kansas, but the problem with that analagy is that he is a relatively new coach to that program.

Do you guys not have anything better to talk about? The subject has been beaten to death and then beaten some more. Why don't you head over to your local grocer and buy all the ketchup they have so you can put on the heap of crow you will be eating when this team turns it around. Nagy will get it turned around. Yes there has been a lot of movement out of the program and having as many freshmen that we have is not ideal, but picking wounds from the last two seasons is going to win any games this year or any time in the future. Everyone please stop repsonding to this thread and lets kick some gopher ass tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe Robert Bilitz (6-10, redshirt freshman) will become eligible soon, and provide some backup height. Any word on whether he will be able to join the active roster at semester break? It sure would be nice to have another big guy.
