It strikes me funny that you would be the one to speak of "ethics" as you were the one that started the speculation when you posted about "someone" leaving (which by the way I believe is a board rule violation if you don't provide info and your source) in the first place.

No speculation about anything on my part. If what I posted is a "board rule violation" by all means take it off.

There's a pretty big difference in saying that a player will no longer be with us and giving out the players name. Nothing about the information I gave out was unethical. You may view that differently, I guess??

I'd much rather have you whining than have said a name when it is obvious the players would rather not have that done yet.

It's a big guy. It's not Engen, it's not AC, it's not Kai. It may be someone who was benched later in the year and apparently had trouble knowing when to keep quiet. I think that narrows it down pretty well.

I think this is a good candidate to be removed from the board. Along with any of mine, if they are divulging information we should not be giving out.

Here is where I invite people to return to the topic of the thread.

Seems to me the thread is about what should happen to make the men's team better next year.

Regarding the annual "player is leaving" discussion:
If you've got a source saying a player is leaving, then go ahead and post, and name your source. If not, then don't post.

It's a pretty easy rule to understand, I think.

In all fairness, I served as player/coach of my city league this season so the benching was self-imposed and the mouthing off part was really a product of poor officiating.

I didn't mouth off at all during our playoff game last night. Even after our guards turned it over on 6 straight positions and blew the 10 point lead we had held most of the game. Fortunately, we wore out the other team and won in double overtime. We don't have a coach. Lastly, life is too short to waste any of it yelling at city league officials.

The larger dillema for me, the semis are on March 18th, the same evening as the SDSU alumni event.

Has anyone on this board thought if the adminstration brings in a new coach they might be able to keep some of the current players we have and maybe might bring in some better talent so we can compete in the Summit League? Just a fan wondering the future of the Rabbits.

dude..... we just went over that topic......... NO...... Nagy recruits like no other, a new coach isn't going to get Colton Iverson or any other Big 10 recruits, if Nagy leaves half of the team leaves, especially if he was to be forced out. Then the team would be starting all over again, something as a fan I don't want to see, we are young, a new coach isn't going to get better talent. Nagy found Palarca from the greater LA area, he found Cassady from the Denver burbs, found Kai from Canada, found Callahan from the middle of Illinois and has recruited just fine since we have gone D-I....... I think your post is a joke...... One thing Nagy has done is recruit good, you can rag on him for some of his coaching styles and rag on him for having players leave early but you can not rag on him for recruiting.....

I am trying to figure this out, everyone says there is so much talent on the court but why has this talent not translated into wins. I really don't want to hear it is because they are young, if you are young and talented you really shouldn't place dead last in one of the worst division I conferences in the country. I didn't get to see very many games, just trying to see the direction of the program. When I was in school the NCC was just as talented as the Summit league minus probably Oral Roberts who NDSU just beat and we got thumped by. That brings me to another question why has NDSU's transition been smooth where ours has been aweful even though we were the premier program in the NCC? From a confused fan. I mean dead last come on.

I think the most important things learned are this:
                          1. Thou shalt not question the abilities of thy Nagy
                          2. Thou shalt be ready for massive upheaval if thou questions thy Nagy
                          3. Nagy shall be the annointed one until said day that thy Nagy chooses otherwise
                          4. Nagy shall be the be all and end all of coaching, so saith the fan board

I've learned my lessons and will do my best to educate others so they do not follow my mistakes.

You're gonna get negative rep points for your last two posts. I'm afraid to post discussions I have with some pretty well known alums, some former players, with regards to the program currently and the direction we're headed. I have come to the conclusion that others here share the same concerns but the feeling is that this is not an appropriate place to air them. Thats okay with me. The issues rabbitails touches on and CatchEm subtley pokes are being discussed by a lot of people, just not on this forum. Again, I'm okay with that.

Talent wise the NCC was not as talented as the Summit League I don't care what your bar buddies told ya its not, the NCC was good but there was a reason it was a D-II conference.... You also have to throw out all of the D-I transfers the NCC got because you don't get those in D-I ball especially D-I transition ball.

"if you are young and talented you shouldn't finish last" fair point, now my point on that is look at the numbers, we lead in the second half of every home game except the NDSU game in which we trailed by 1.... we only won a handful of them, coming from a NAIA school in which we start 5 freshman I see how young talented players loose there heads in close games, something you don't see from experienced teams...

"why has NDSU's transition been smooth when ours has been awful" I have to admit I was fairly young when when this happened but from what I understand I believe the fact that NDSU wasn't that great there last few years in D-II ball allowed them to set up for D-I better then SDSU.... SDSU was a top 10 program those last couple of years if I remember right and I think that hurt them because it didn't allow for them to get there poop in a group for the jump. I also have to look at bad luck, we have had kids transfer for all sorts of reasons.... You also have to remember we beat NDSU the first couple of years at home and played with them this year.....
