Re: NDSU Game in Fargo 1/25/08

Not much action on the game thread on Bisonville or here. Everybody must be at the game. NDSU shooting that kind of percentage was not expected. Especially Tveidt. I always heard he could get it done but haven't seen it until tonight.

Beran did some nice things. I thought that when I watched your game with the Gophers too. Williams looks pretty smooth and that Cordova seems to be pretty physical.

Jacks had a lot of turnovers. That has been a Bison problem in several games this year. I've got my fingers crossed that things don't turn around much in the second half. It wouldn't bother me if the Jacks wait until next week to start lighting it up.

everybody must be at the game. This is horrible. 71-41 with 12:31 to play. Can't wait until tomorrow night. Will be a completely different game.

We lost this one in the first 10 minutes. They were ready to go, and we weren't. Nice to see Cordova getting so many minutes. He's playing well, and you get the feeling that every minute he plays actually pays off in the next game.
        Holy nutmeg!

So why are so many of NDSU's starters still in there? We've got Wipf in the game. Nice...

Yep, that 22-2 run killed us....they jumped up by 25 and it was over. At least we kept them from continuing to pull away I guess.

I didn't necessarily expect to win, but I thought we would've been a little more competitive.

The best I can say about this game is it looked like we didn't quit in the second half. Sure glad I didn't waste my money going to Fargo.

Well I am not remorseful either, but its shows we have a ways to go in making progress. Seems to me that we had so many turnovers that occured when trying to get the ball inside. NDSU seems to have our number in that particular department. Turnovers was 12 to 2 at one point I believe at half. I hope we can rebound and still fiinish strong, but the unplayed schedule of games is getting shorter.

I would love to see Mark Engen get some more playing time. He isn't going to get better on the bench. I also don't understand why Berte plays so infrequently. He had a great game against the Gophers. It seems if he makes any kind of error he is relegated to the bench indefinitely. I would be dissapointed if I was him to come back and get such little playing time. Bassett must really be in the doghouse!

I think I'm done with saying anything about our men's team until such time as they finally turn the corner. I'll still go to the games, and if we're within 20 points, I'll maybe make some noise, but other than that, I'm just along for the ride.

Lots of questions for me about the way things are going, but will save them for another day. Have to suck it up and get ready for the next one.

Yeah...we should probably just give them all the time they need to figure things out. They're young and inexperienced. In two to three years we'll really be onto something. Until then let's just support the team and cheer the victories that do come.

I am starting to think that Callahan and Sargent should not be on the floor at the same time. They are both finesse-type players and we should pair a more physical guard like Moss with one of them. With the more physical type games that seem to be the norm in the Summit,it seems that our guards get out-muscled too often.

Re: NDSU Game in Fargo 1/25/08

Unless you come back to win, it doesn't matter what you do in a game after you're behind by 30 points. I am going to repeat myself: Playing somebody tough or close DOES NOT MATTER after you're hehind by 30.

Honest to God, it was embarassing to watch the game on television. I'm having thoughts about the program I've never had before. One thing is clear: I can see why we're in no hurry to get our men's basketball games on TV.

Pathetic is the only word I have for tonight's showing. There are NAIA teams that would have mopped up the floor with us tonight.

OK, I fear I've said too much. Sorry. It would be best if I just signed off now.

Wait ... I will finish with the only bright spots I can think of ... I didn't pay to see it (although I did waste a portion of life watching it) ... and we did outdunk them. I kept hoping there would be some type of MTV Rock and Jock 50-point shot introduced so it looked like we belonged in the same gym if we hit one, but ... alas.

Sorry. Sorry. I've gone on another tirade. Consider this venting and please try to forgive me.

I didn't get a chance to see the game, did we just not show up, or are we that bad? I know we're young but there is no excuse to not drive up to Fargo for one of our biggest games of the year, with plenty of rest, and not show up to play. Something has to change.

Reality check??????? Embarassed, a little bit, suprised, no. Worst part, the people I watched part of it with expected us to get crushed and they aren't even basketball fans. Low point for the program? I think that is a legitimate question. It has nothing to do with being better than last year or the year before or the year before. We had NO CHANCE in a game against our supposed peer. If that doesn't hit home for you, I don't know what does. I'm ready for the rah rah guys to spin this one.
