Re: U of Mary Game Thread
Saw Kansas play last Friday night. They really don't have a true 5....they have athletic kids that rotate in the 4 and 5 spot and only have 4 kids 6'9" or taller on the roster. They bring Cole Aldrich off the bench and play him at the 4. They do have outstanding guard play and more than one shooter on the roster. Their bigs can also step out and shoot the three. The recent trend is to play with a little smaller more athletic player at the 4 or 5 position. Kai is more of a 3 man than 4 or 5. He hasn't shot lights out. I've seen two games and the only consistent shooter has been Sargent. Regardless of what the kids have done in HS or done in college games past...this team has not shot the ball that great. Less than 45% overall shooting from the field does not impress me and I still have not seen a 3-pt threat other than Sargent. I expect this team to see a lot of zone if the trend continues. Cordova can step out beyond the arch but it's an adventure....not sure you'll see it happen much.
As for naming prospects..yes I'm going to mention Jordan Miller. He's unsigned, he's a hot prospect and SDSU has genuine interest in him. I am sure that ruffles the feathers of those who follow others in the state but right now he's the best available in the area and would fill a need for the team. The team is young and there is room for improvement. I'm certain they will improve as the season goes along. The coaches have not given up but this will be a frustrating year at times due to the inexperience and youth.
As for intensity...come on a holiday being an excuse for not playing hard? Seriously, you can do better than that......even you can't buy that as an excuse Joeboo. Wow.
