Rotert was a great shooter during her junior year. However, she developed a "hitch" in her shot. Never been the same since.

The game will be quickly forgotten, and I have to agree, this not the time to give away the sets that the staff has no doubt put some time and effort into. Lets save the good stuff for the conference and the games that count. Surely, the DWU game was not a start of a tail spin of this season.

I guess that was Jimmyjack who made mention of sets and not giving them away. I am not going to get down yet just on one exhibition game. Let the Coyote fools say what they want about the game. We will be okay

I'll say it again. We ran one set play all night. One. Nagy didn't want to give away his sets to later opponents.

Still think we should have handed them a more convincing defeat, maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am and time will tell.

Running around BT this morning doing errands etc, I ran into a number of good Jack Fans. Its amazing how worked up some of us are still about the DWU game.

President Chicoine sits maybe three rows in front of me and I did not notice but a good friend did notice that he the prez was not a happy camper either, especially during the DWU game.

Also talked to someone who is close to one of the roster members. I was told by this person that Nagy respected who was coaching DWU, namely John Hemmingway, former USD player and assistant coach. I did notice they had quite a private conversation before the game and I have no idea what they were talking about. They could have been talking about family and church for all I know.

What I did find out is that the offense ran during the DWU game was purposely a very vanilla motion offense. I think someone made a post somewhat to this effect, but I could not locate it, but based on that one conversation, it prove to be right on. He said that Nagy did not want to show Hemingway any of the sets that they have worked on in the short practice session of this season. John is a smart guy and a great coach, he no doubt would put them to use immediately and then the video and othe videos would show these sets that will matter and can be used once the Summit play starts. Coach Nagy knows what he is doing.

Coach Nagy is a great person in terms of strategy and in my opinion that is his strong point. Right now he looks like a goat, but I am not worried and I am sure Coach Nagy can explain this all to the prez if he has too.

Be happy fans, and whistle while you all work.

As a point of reference, the Huskers of the Big XII played an exhibition game last night against Nebraska Wesleyan of the GPAC. Guess what? The game was tied at the half. The Huskers did end up winning by 20, but for the game, NE Weselyan actually out rebounded the Huskers and their 7-ft first-team All Big XII center. The Huskers barely shot 50% from the ft line and were something like 4 of 17 from the three-point line.

Husker head coach Doc Sadler was a bit more upset with the Huskers than Nagy was with the Jacks, primarily for a lack of effort and intensity in the first half. But Sadler also said the shuffling of players and a variety of lineups may have affected rhythm. He also shouldered blame for having just installed a zone offense earlier Friday. (Sound familiar?) He added, “I’m not going to get too down about this, because we’ve been having way too many good practices ... We’ve just got some things to clean up, and we’ll do that.”

I'm not saying the Huskers are world-beaters, but most feel they are much improved. I'd say the spread between the Huskers and NE Wesleyan (picked to finish 11th in the GPAC) is a bit larger than the spread between the Jacks and Dak Wesleyan. These are exhibition games. We'll see where the sky is when the games count.

There may be some confusion about my concerns. I'm not really that concerned about the status of the game or the team we played. I'm concerned about the outcome. We played hard and up to acceptable level for 10 minutes out of 40. I understand it was a lot like a scrimmage and in the end we showed enough intensity to have more points on the board than they did. I expected us to defeat them easily fulling understanding the approach Nagy would be taking. I expected something different than what occurred. I appreciate the analysis of others and hope that the conclusions some of you have made are correct. Other than the first 8 minutes and the last 2 minutes, that game did little to allay my concerns about a team with very little "real game" experience.

I'll be tuning in Monday night to listen against the U of Mary. I'd like to see a performance similar to the first 8-10 minutes of the exhibition but with better defense and fewer missed FT's.

Grand Valley State beat Pre-Season #8 Michigan State last night in an exibition.

I to was pretty worked up on Wednesday night listening to the game against DWU, but after seeing this on ESPN last night and reading some of the posts, I'm good with remembering the first 8 minutes of Wednesday night's game and expecting a crushing of U of Mary.

On my way to watch the Chadron State and Wyoming women's game, I was listening to Huskers Sports Radio on the AM radio. Anywho, Nebraska men's b-ball coach Stadler was asked about redshirts and he said incoming freshmen are allowed to play in exhibition games and redshirt without losing eligibility and that is not the case for upperclassmen. So for those of you wondering why Casey didn't play hopefully that clears things up a bit.

BTW, I still think SDSU and CSC women should play exhibition next year!

May be a little harsh, but she at times she did not seem to know that there are four others on the court wearing white uniforms,thats what I saw and she is not the sharpshooter that many may think. Iam just saying she has a lot to learn and I am sure she will. I thinking along the line of what Johnny Johnson the legendry SDSU equipment manager who has been pushing up daisies for a long time often told new freshman: "You may think you are some kind of high school star, but you are nothing here." Being Kristi is a lady, we might have to be a little more gentle, but I think it applies. And yes Kristi did not shoot great, and often took shoots when she would have been smarter to pass. She will learn.

I'm sure if AJ has a problem with the way any of his players is performing/contributing, he will let them know.
