Well because he is such a good football player too, he stayed at home in Saskatoon and redshirted the first year, because he has an option to play both sports there, his Mom was a very good basketball player and his Dad was a good football player,
Bodnar played with Kai on the Canada Summer Games team he was the point guard.
and if we can get all the players on the same page as far as team work goes and how committed they are all going to be all will be well
I think the coaches felt that this would have been the case this last season, with Kai, Garrett and Matt at the core of the movement. That didn't work out (obviously) this last season and hopefully the problems are gone. I am hoping that with the addition of Beren and an additional year of seasoning for Kai and Garrett and some good, strong recruits coming in, that this team has the right parts to move forward.
It is my understanding that Ben has taken a leadership role with this team already, hopefully that proves to be a positive. If it does we could definitely be looking at a .500+ season this year.

I agree Mrs Williams with the added note that the student/athlete has to be in an environment that is enjoyable and positive. Lord knows uni is tough enough without the above. That is probably the toughest part of coaching, creating that environment. I would not want my kids (not that I have any :-) to be part of something they dont enjoy. Lifes to short for that.
Before you commit to a school you have to have some understanding of the area does it suit you, can you cope in a community that is small, you have to want to make some changes in your lifestyle maybe too, after all we are talking about 4 years here, some kids cannot handle being away from home some can, lots to think about before you decide to go to University, it is tough, life is tough.
I don't know how much Canadian hs basketball you watch but do you see any D-I basketball players coming out of Canada in the next few years?
Well as we all know Canada is a very large Country, I would say there are many telented players in Canada, as there are in the USA , however only a few go to the Div 1 schools.
The other guy I have not heard much about is Cordova. We all know he had to sit out, but has anyone see him around playing with the guys. I would think the last year off has given him an opportunity to hit the weights and work on his game even though he could not participate in formal workouts.
I have seen him scrimmaging with Beran, Berte, DeBoer, DC, Stoebner and some other former basketball players a couple times before games. He looks outta shape, a Keg is a shape, but not a good shape, kind of but thats my take.
