Moss and his Brandon Valley teamates are playing on South Dakota Public Television as we speak. You can watch it on the webcam.

I suspect the most reliable indication of which Jucos we're looking at will be signing announcements from the athletic department.

                Good stuff.  8-)

If you watched Brandon Valley's Dale Moss run the floor during Thursday's win over Mitchell, you know that the kid can cover the Sioux Falls Arena floor in about six easy strides.

He can also jump a little bit, as evidenced by his four blocked shots - several of the Row 6 variety - and soaring rebounds in the Lynx's 39-28 victory.

In a game that seemed unsightly even by Class AA boys standards, Moss even managed to elicit "ooohs" from the afternoon crowd with 15 points on a series of twisting lay-ups.
                 .  .  .

.  .  .  Their son didn't reach rare heights until after his freshman year at Brandon Valley, when his body finally caught up with his ambition.

"I was scrawny and uncoordinated," says Moss. "But that summer I grew about 3 inches and put on some weight. My friends and I were messing around, and I realized I had a pretty good vertical leap - and that I could dunk the ball pretty easy."

It didn't take long for colleges recruiters to notice Moss, an Argus Leader Elite 45 football pick at wide receiver who averages 17.5 points in basketball for the Lynx.

With so many options, his father offered advice.

"I told him, 'Some of the best things in life are right in your own backyard,' " says Dale Sr. "He looked around, and that's what he found."

So "Baby Dale" is headed to South Dakota State to play basketball, where Jackrabbits coach Scott Nagy has exciting plans for him.

"What he's going to have to do in college is be a great defensive player for us," says Nagy, who met briefly with Moss after Thursday's game. "He's long and athletic, and he should be able to defend at several positions. When a guy can do that, it gives him a greater chance to play."

Anybody hear if we have any men's recruits coming to town this week. Last time I checked we still have some holes to fill and what a great atmosphere to showcase!

Here's an article about Clint Sargeant from a week ago. This kid sounds like a steal for SDSU.

The opposing team's coach said this.

"We were not going to let Clint Sargent beat us," said Harlan Coach Mitch Osborn. "That guy is a phenomenal player. He has to be a Mr. Basketball candidate. I think South Dakota State got a real steal there."

Sargent, Collins repeat as All-Metro boys picks

By Barry Poe Journal sports writer

While seniors Clint Sargent of Bishop Heelan, Josh Collins of West and Jehmica McDaniel of North certainly enjoyed stellar final prep campaigns, there will no doubt be plenty of good things in store for the future of Sioux City boys basketball.

Sargent, a South Dakota State University recruit, and Northern Iowa University football signee Collins repeated as All-Metro honorees, selected by Sioux City and South Sioux City coaches. North's McDaniel, meanwhile, landed on the honor squad for the first time after helping the Stars reach the Class 4A state tournament. . . . (read more)

                              Congrates to Sargent.

I wonder if Nagy has his eye on Sargent's teammate Cougill.  He is a 6'-9", 260 pounds, a Sophmore that averaged 16.7 points and 10.5 rebounds.  It would be nice if he followed Sargent to SDSU.
