    Re: 2007 Recruits

Unfortunately, the athletic factor of the players coming back is pretty low. Aside from Cadwell, who is able to create their own shot? Even Cadwell had a hard time getting a look towards the end of the season because other teams focused their defense on him. And that was with Ben still on the team. Who is going to be the second option next season? That's where I see us running into problems. I think everyone we have coming back have their heads and hearts in the right place and will never give anything less than 100%. But, will that be enough?

SDSU is one full time assistant men's coach short for effective recruiting.  Coach Nagy needs to find another assistant coach who can complement his staff the way Margentheler did a few years ago.  Larson is a good coach but they need help.  SDSU is playing DI but still working with a small DII sized staff.  Give them the tools to get it done. SDSU has a good staff, just really short-handed.

It took you almost a year before your first post, but I'm glad you finally did it! Welcome to the board and thanks for posting.

I think Larson is doing a decent job as well. But look what Margenthaler did in Mankato in so few years with the talent he has recruited. He is one hell of a coach and we miss him dearly because he really knew how to get kids into SDSU.

Another great post.  Matt does an amazing job convincing players to join his team.  He has some great talent at Mankato.  Several of his young post players should be in the DI ranks.  Winona St. also has a great coach who can convince kids to play DII.  Larson had some great players at Morningside (Andrew Drevo transferred to Nebraska when Troy was named head coach).  It just hasn't seemed to carry over to SDSU and DI.

I hope this is true. The more recruits who visit, the better.

Let's really, really, really, really not go here, even in jest, OK?

Is Jackguy II still around...he used to be on top of a lot of recruiting news and seems to have dissapeared from posting for awhile?

He is having tech. difficulties with the board. It is being looked into and he should be back soon.

Sam Willard (Pierre) and Adam Peterka (Miller) have both visited SDSU in the past month. Willard has been offered and is being heavily recruited. Peterka has yet to be offered because the staff is sifting through their needs specifically the pt. guard position. They have not offered any pt. guards in the 07 class and if they determine they want to offer a guard expect Peterka to get an offer at that time.

Good to have you back Cadsev, i assume it is a busy time for you. Any other tidbits on the recruiting and prospect trail. Where did that Eekhoff kid from Iowa end up at?
Is Moss from BValley receiving any attention? I have also heard good things about Shilling from Ellsworth, MN?

Nice to hear from you again Cadsev. I hope Willard realizes just how much we would like him at SDSU. Peterka is in a tougher position given all the bodies in the backcourt right now.
