      Re: 2007 Recruits

As a huge SDSU Jack Fan, I would love to see Noah come here. But there is no way that is going to happen. IF HE EVEN CONSIDERS NDSU or SDSU over all the other D-1 offers, he still has a teamate from HS that is at NDSU. Until we can compete with NDSU's facilities, we won't be getting any players of his caliber for awhile. He is a top 5 player in the state of Minnesota coming into next year and all of Minnesota has known about him since he was in 9th grade playing in the state tournament (Of course mostly because of his brother). Like I said, I would love to see it happen, but I don't think we even have a chance. Right now it's SDSU who?

        Re: 2007 Recruits

I'm a little confused here...NDSU's BB facilities do not even compare to SDSU. Now as far as football there is a major difference but they do not hold a candle to us on the Basketball side? :-?

        GO JACKS!

:-?comparing Frost to the bison arena is like comparing a juicy apple to a frozen orange, they have crap for facilities. unless they have made major changes in facilities...

My thoughts exactly on the facilities. Frost Arena is by far better than what NDSU has. Frost compares relatively well to a lot of Div 1 facilities. But I will agree that NDSU has a better Weight Room, an area SDSU has to look at upgrading or at least refurbishing the current weight room.

Noah is no top five player in Minnesota. Top 15 yes, top 5 no.

Agreed, he is a solid player with plenty of upside who is on the first page when it comes to MN propects for 2007, but he is not top 5.

NDSU has a connection through Vaughn and his father who coaches Noah. However, rumor is that Vaughn may leave Braham. I guess we will see. I am just happy to hear we have an offer out to him.

Frost does compare very well to other D-1 facilities. Here's an article about what Sac St is BUILDING!!

And not as big as Frost. I suspect that in the Mid-Con/Big Sky/Mo Valley/Horizon that's there is not a lot that's more than a couple hundreds more capacity than Frost.

Cameron Indoor Stadium on the campus of Duke university only has a capacity of 9314. It is also more than twice as old as Frost.

He's gained some weight since this was created. Now weighs around 220.

I'd say this is a bit of a stretch to compare Frost to Cameron. A large part of the quality of a facility is who fills it (i.e. fan quality/loudness). Right now we don't rank high on that chart.

I apologize for the comment about the basketball arena. You are correct. I was leaning more towards the whole school in general, Fargo Dome, larger city, more things to do, etc.

I suspect this may be the "carrot" that bluehatman put out there on the FB thread. Someone/several someones must be leaving the BB program. I guess we will find out.
