  • William Kyle heading to UCLA. Thought he may stay closer to Nebraska but ended up going to the Big Ten nevertheless.

    • The roster is now posted. It is a younger group overall.

      • Anyone have any good intel from practice thus far on potential starters, rotations, etc? Would love to hear any buzz on how the squad is shaping up!

        • I’ve heard the transfer center from Washington St looks good and that the coaches are excited overall. This may be the least experienced team we’ve had though with only one returning starter. I anticipate Sayler and some of the other young guys to acclimate quickly but not an easy schedule so there will be growing pains. The league as a whole is a total crapshoot and not at all the same as last year thanks to the transfer portal. I’m optimistic we will come along well without the superstars we have been used to having the last few years. Maybe we will play more team ball which is a good thing.

My patience was running thin with Zeke. When he was on it was great, and he is a tremendous player, but his antics and "hero" ball wore me out. Let's hope we can return to a true offensive scheme and play as a team.

            • We'll know more in two weeks with the opening game at the Pentagon. In the couple of interviews I've heard with Hendo, he has been complimentary of Cluff and the two true freshmen PG's. Haven't heard anything at all about Lindsey. You would think he was told that he'll get minutes, otherwise he likely wouldn't have made the move to Brookings for his final season.

              • I am going to try to get up to Brookings 10/30 for the exhibition double header to get an early look at some of the players for both women's and men's. Especially on the men's side it will be nice to see this group on the court. I know we can expect some time to gel and growing pains, but it should be a fun season. There's some talent here for sure.

                • My guess on the starting lineup, based partly on secondhand insights and partly on personal speculation: Oscar Cuff (6-11), Matthew Mors (6-7), Issac Lindsay (6-4), Kalen Garry (6-3), and Joe Saylor (6-3). Cuff is a transfer from Washington State, and Lindsay is a transfer from Wisconsin. Mors and Garry return with experience. Saylor is a redshirt freshman. There appears to be a lot of talent on the bench, including Nate Barnhart, William Whorton, Bubs Alvarez, Owen Larson and some other talented, young players.
                  This space for lease.

                  • Tanner Castora posted a tweet this morning along with some video from practice. He said that Kalen Garry, Joe Sayler and Owen Larson will start. Larson looked impressive in the video. Didn't mention who else will start, but you have to think that Oscar Cluff will be in the lineup. Also said that Matthew Mors has lost 30 lbs since last season.

Did you see Isaac Lindsey in any of those clips?

I saw the video but couldn't find him. You have better eyes than I do.

                          • There are going to be growing pains but this is the most excited I've been for a basketball season on the men's side for us in a while. Hoping for a good turnout Monday evening for what should be a great game in Sioux Falls.

Tyler just said that Lindsey is in a boot.
