If King's on the bench for the bulk of the remainder of the season, I'll definitely be disappointed. If he transfers, that's a whole other level of disappointment. I enjoy watching him play because he strikes me as a scrapper, and I think he's underrated, but I'm not a hoops expert; probably can't even be considered a novice. I just enjoy watching the Jacks.
I guess I understood Otz's response to indicate staff felt another player might be better suited for Omaha.
Haven't seen a game this year but if he goes it'll remind me of Tevaunn Prince. My memory of him at SDSIU was a poorly disciplined player that ran into a lot of people. Saw him play for two years with Missouri Southern and he was dominant. Far fewer mistakes.
I know the MIAA is D2, but seeing him tear apart Lindenwood for a couple of years made me think that he was a legitimate D1 player that should not have gotten away. Seeing King a couple of times last year gave me the same feeling. He needs coaching but has raw talent that the Jacks should harness.
Seems about right. I wouldn't bet on us to cover 5... however I would bet on us to cover a first half 3, because we will come out with a lot of energy being pissed about the Omaha game, we'll lead at half, then lose by at least 10 because we won't be able to keep up the defensive intensity in the 2nd half. Book it.

Considering we've been outscored in 14 out of the 17 second halfs we've played you are really going out on a limb!! Ha ha just kidding. We should be able to cover with ease. They've only beat 2 division 1 opponents and we are into the 2nd week of January. Lines are set off of statistical data like ken Pom, jacks will flip a switch I have a feeling. I just hope the coaching staff makes better adjustments in the second half because right now that's what has killed us.

I don't have any faith in a switch being flipped at this point. I thought that would happen against Omaha then we put up one of the worst halves of defensive basketball I have ever seen.

You may have missed the Bison game. It was not a good second half following a positive first half.

I'm sure you realize this, OldHare, but the first half of the Bison game was a mirage. The Bison were missing wide open shot after wide open shot in the first half. The 2nd half defense wasn't worse, it was the Bison finally started making shots college basketball players should make consistently. The law-of-averages will rear its ugly head eventually.

Correct. Nothing positive can be taken from the Bison game. They missed WIDE OPEN shots the entire first half. This team has a lot of improving to do before there is any chance at making a run for the Summit title.
