    Great second half by the Rabbits.

    Team will continue to struggle in spots.

    The encouraging thing, is the team was able to keep playing hard despite facing a hot shooter, and then get a bit better coverage in the 2nd half.

    Sound like the offense is looking better. Which it should against a lower opponent.

    Still alot of moving parts and pieces... Darwich played really well for a youngster, but again he should against a lower opponent. Good to see Hess shooting better...he has a great stroke, and will be a weapon for us. Thiesen is fine. He gets waay too much grief on here. We need him. Daum and Telly are probably our best players, and should continue to be. Good signs of Tevin King coming to life. He has skills that most of our lineup doesn't have, and can really make us dangerous if he's playing well.

    (Darn it, resorted to the "Royal We" there, for a bit... try not to do that.)

    There's alot of talent on this squad. Hopefully they keep the faith, and keep learning and improving. Great test coming for them against UMKC.

      Orris just is not a good player. His stats coming in proved it. Also, Zimmer has all but said his name when he talks about players that just aren't as good as the coaches were hoping.

        Michael Orris started the first game or two at the point. He must have shown something in early practices. I think he's just not a scorer. He's mostly a passer. The coach seems to sit players for games at a time without public explanation (Flatten, for example, and Hess), apparently to get some point across. I wouldn't brush off anyone yet, especially a guard. The rotation is still being established.

          If Nagy was still the coach, we could with some certainty conclude, Orris does not know or care to know how to play defense, but with a new coach, we don't really know what is creating this pine punishment.

            I think the discussion about Orris is missing the point. Otz is going with an offense centered around Mike Daum (rightfully so in my opinion) and it doesn't take a "great passer" player to get it in to him. When he gets the ball, he has complete discretion to decide what to do next. If he doesn't decide to take it to the basket himself (or can't get there), he is the "great passer" on the team, looking for scorers (not passers). And besides that factor, the team is working on getting the ball in the front half of the lane and then dishing out to outside shooters. IMO again, Orris doesn't fit into that scheme.

              This goes back to last spring, where Coach came in and was scrambling to fill a roster. It was kind of take who is out there. IRC, Orris a grad transfer, so it a mistake we can live with.

                And by all reports... a high quality individual who has overcome some challenges. If he ends up 3rd string PG that has to be used in an emergency, that's fine.
