Nagy said on the coaches show he would "be shocked" is Bittle plays this week and even if he does, he doesn't know how effective he'll be.
Also, Marshall hasn't practiced since playing Thursday. King had a stress fracture earlier this year where he was out for a month. His foot has started hurting again, too.
Tough stretch upcoming with IPFW, @NDSU, @ORU, @USD.
The fan in me says that the Jacks are going to go 3-1 in the upcoming four games. The realist is hoping for 2-2. Those are four difficult match ups, even if mostly healthy.
I believe the only thing said was that there was a chance he would begin practicing soon, but no mention of playing, except that it would take him some time to round back into playing shape.

There is quite a fascination with Flatten. Is that more because he's a local kid or can he really add something this team is missing? In looking at his play from last year, I'm curious as to where he fits. Does he take King's minutes etc?

He's an athletic, 6-6 kid. About the same size as Tellinghuisen, but probably more of a guard than a forward. He was a star at a small high school. Because of injuries, we haven't gotten to see him play much at the college level. The talk last year was that he was a talented offensive player learning to play defense (which often seems to be the case with college recruits.) He'll definitely contribute in the future, knees willing. Not sure what position.
Caught a little bit of the coaches show tonight and heard Nagy say that he is confident they'll be able to get another year for Flatten because knee surgeries have kept him out for 2 years.
I'm paraphrasing, but that was the gist of what Nagy said.
He also joked he wasn't sure if Flatten wanted to spend 6 years with him.

I believe he also said he is beginning to wonder if he will ever get back to 100% of where he was pre-injuries.

I was speaking with a manager and heard that he absolutely tears it up in practice. At times nobody can contain him. Skyler was against a medical hardship until it was evident that he would only be eligible for a handful of games. Then his mind changed.
