Whether it was the injury or just the brace, Bittle sure looked stiff walking around yesterday.

It was hard to tell what kind of brace he had on under the sweats, but it certainly looked like it was keeping him from bending that knee very much.

Coach Nagy said after the MTSU game that he expected George Marshall to be back for the Jan. 1 conference opener against Denver. Jake Bittle, no. Skyler Flatten's status is unknown.

I thought the postgame indicated that Flatten may be able to start practicing. That is not any timeframe for playing, but he must be getting some clearance or improvement to move to practicing.

              From today's Argus:

The Jacks are also hopeful that swingman Skyler Flatten will be able to begin practicing soon. Nagy has not given up on Flatten returning this season.

Though there will be a price to pay later in the season, we are fortunate to have the early part of the Summit schedule set up the way it is. The only road game in the next 20 days is at IUPUI, the clear favorite to finish last in the league. If there ever was a stretch where there might be time to have people healing up, this is it. Starting on January 16, however, things get difficult (consecutive road games at NDSU, ORU and USD over a 7-day period). That's where we are going to need all hands on deck.

Have to figure it will take Flatten some time to get into "game shape". It's likely he will have trouble breaking into the rotation this year.

If we can get Jake and George back healthy we are going to be in good shape.

                  Re: Injury Updates

This doesn't have anything to do with injuries, but has anyone heard any reports of how the redshirts have looked in practices ? We sat close to the floor on the end where the Jacks were warming up and I was surprised how big Dykman is. He is all of the 6'7 he is listed at.If he is truly a guard as it says in the program,he will be a match-up problem for a lot of teams. On the other hand, Gentry looked tiny - it didn't help that he was standing between Dykman and Flatten though.

Yeah, I didn't notice but my sister said that it almost looked like he had it immobilized. Not a great sign...

Talked to Skyler yesterday and he said he will begin practicing next week. Bittle is still 2-3 weeks away, but George Marshall said he will be available to play tomorrow night.

Saw Marshall last night and he seemed excited to get back. Wasn't any sort of limp.
On a side note, every time I talk to him I'm impressed. Great, down to earth dude

Hopefully the Jacks can open up leads early in both games this weekend so his minutes can be managed and he can gradually get built back up to full strength.

Jackrabbit Insider had some nagging injuries for the men. King and Marshall are in walking boots. Parks still has a sore back. Bittle is not practicing.

Trouble, big trouble - at least if you are still expecting the Jacks to mow through the Summit schedule with only one or two losses. It's going to be a grind.

By the sound of it Jake will practice on Tuesday. That'll be a nice sign. The boots for Marshall and Parks are as much for continued healing as anything. Pretty sure they'll be ready by Thursday. Down to 7 healthy players at practice yesterday. Not good.
