    Re: 2/27 DU Game

Nice win last night. I didn't see a lot of the game. Was on the bench for a tight YMCA 4th grade semifinal . Looked good down the stretch to put the game away. The night off in the conference tournament would be great. But as the two or three seed this team can make it back to The Dance. I think if they would've had to go through NDSU in the semi's it wasn't going to happen. Beating the Bison on Monday and then having to come back the next night would've been a lot to ask.

The rules call for head to head as the first break, then it is the highest ranked team which is NDSU. Ft Wayne has beaten NDSU and the jackrabbits have not. There is no need to move to the next tiebreaker. You are correct.

He is asking about the scenario where SDSU, Denver, and IPFW all end up tied. Not the scenario where SDSU and IPFW are the only two who end up tied.

Then it is the best record among the teams tied for that position according to the link at the Summit site. I already(in my mind) had Denver getting beat by the Bison on Saturday and that game has not been played. It is possible that Denver has their number and will beat them twice. I apologize for my tunnel vision. The most likely opportunity for the Jackrabbits to be #2 seed will be the Omaha upset of Ft Wayne mentioned earlier and a Jackrabbit victory over the yotes.

I'm not sure if I agree, but yesterday TV mentioned that the best bet to upset the Bison might come in the semis. They will be going into the tourney with all the pressure of their once-every-four-years class of seniors and could be vulnerable to the magnitude of the moment. Hopefully the #4 or #5 seed will knock them off in that round. USD was within a missed-FT of doing it in Vermillion and Denver/FW have already done it. Stranger things have happened in March.

I think people forget this sometimes. Not an exact comparison, but just look at what Monaghan did at Mankato this year after struggling at SDSU. He's the NSIC player of the year.

It is true that the stars will be aligned and the 27 what ifs pass through the eye of the needle, but the probability of Ft Wayne and SDSU losing on Saturday AND NDSU losing at home to Denver would be the parlay Vegas would take your money offering tremendous returns and hoping that you have friends along. So you are saying it is possible would make a good movie. Please excuse my tunnel vision.

One thing is for sure, this Summit league tournament is going to be great! I'm going to make some predictions on the men's side, which I know some of you won't like:

                    1. NDSU will not make the championship game. Braun will either go cold one game or get in foul trouble, and that will be the end of that.
                    2. USD is going to make a run to the championship game. That's just a gut feeling. They are due.

I'm ready for the madness to commence!

I see it the other way. Ndsu too much talent to not make the finals atleast ans usd doesn't do well under pressure. Probably lose a game they could win.

I don't disagree. I think the Rabbits could've taken the Bizon out on Monday night. Tuesday in my estimation would've been the issue. To play what I believe is the most talented team in the league on Monday evening and our main rival. Then have to get back up the next evening for another good opponent would've been difficult. I like the scenario where the Bizon have to get through a semifinal then stare their rival in eye for a third time in the championship. I know I'm getting way ahead of myself but I would take the route of the 3 seed over the 4 any day.

                        GO RABBITS!

Plus being 4th seed, you would have USD to start with. So 1st game rival (USD), 2nd game rival (NDSU) and 3rd championship. Talk about emotional drainage (maybe more so w/ the fans).

He was a true freshman playing backup to Nate. I wouldn't say he struggled - he wouldn't have gotten many minutes even if he was all-world.

My point is that he went from being a backup with limited production in the minutes he had at SDSU to a player of the year in a DII conference.

By correlation, which I admit isn't perfect, Jordan Dykstra also likely would have had better numbers playing DII than the already great numbers he has put up in DI at SDSU.

Neither argument is relevant in my opinion while both are off topic. Both are fair assessments and deserving of conversation. Go Jackrabbits!!
