    Re: GDT: SDSU vs. SMSU

I like to see Devine get some playing time, but I hope Bittle heals for Thursday. At this time 8 man rotation looks to be the plan. Donlan did not play enough to see how he might perform. Devine has a nice presence in the middle, but his foot work may need to speed up to get playing time. If they play the big lineup, defensive speed may need to improve with Heemstra, Larson, and Dykstra. Jordan still working hard on being a 3 on defense. He is showing some ball handling skills on offense and bringing the ball off rebounds. He needs to find open guy rather than go to the bucket every time.

That lead got cut to 11 or 12 with two minutes to go and was dropping like a rock. With no wins yet for the season and a trip to Texas Tech on deck , Nagy was taking no chances , and I can't blame him.

        Meh...the lowest the lead got to was 14 (76-62 with 2:21 left). I guess...whatever.

Now I know I've only been on your site for a month or so but one thing is clear. Everyone needs to move on from Nate. This team is a completely different team than the last four years. You all expect the Jacks to develop this go to guy right now when their go to guy is in the NBA. When Nagy says this could be his best TEAM I really think he means it because everyone is so much more involved. That being said, there is no question they need someone to take the big shot or feel comfortable with that role. It's a difficult transition from roleplayer to focal point. There are at least 3 people who will assume that role by mid season that maybe have been tentative to date. Too many people worried about this team falling back to 2006. Different program, different college and different players.

No way the boys were motivated to play a DII team. No upside in those games. The second half was more intense and a decent half. Let's see what Thursday brings.

Part of the change may have been SMSU did not take starters out until ours went back into game.

Best thing to come out of this game.... Anders B. Found His three point shot in a game. We need him to be able to pull back and hit a shot when he is on the floor and finding the confidence to shoot in a game is going to pay dividends down the road.

I would have thought starting off 0-3 would have been motivation enough to come out and blow this team off the floor.

Thought the same thing. He needed a little confidence, might have found it. He looked much more comfortable.

I recall one game in Wolter's career where he looked like headlights in a deer eyes, but of course that was his freshman year. Anders needs some time to adjust. In a few games, he will do just fine.
