This year will be a tough year for some college basketball teams but calling a lot of fouls will be huge for college basketball in the long run. Last year, college basketball might have been one of the most boring years of college basketball play I have seen. If college basketball can find the median between current college basketball style of play and rules and the NBA's current rules and style of play, I think it would vastly improve college basketball as a whole.
Agreed. The NBA adopted some new rules 6 or 7 years ago. The officials stuck to them, the players adjusted, and they changed the game for the better...much better. College BB can and needs to do the same
im not able to access the link. Anyone else have troubles? Can someone recap it for me?
Said that no stats were kept but the Jack men opened up an early lead and hung on to it through out the game. Also said that the Huskers struggled with free throws, turnovers, and defensive errors.
Here's a bit of the online story by Lee Barfknecht of the Omaha World-Herald:
LINCOLN — The Nebraska men’s basketball team has a week to go before its lone exhibition game and 12 days until its regular-season opener with Florida Gulf Coast. It sounds like the Huskers can use that time after losing Sunday night’s scrimmage to South Dakota State 69-65. NU coach Tim Miles, by NCAA rule, can’t comment on these supposed “secret” scrimmages. ... But sources with knowledge of the practice game said South Dakota State, which has played in the past two NCAA tournaments, broke to an early lead and hung on throughout. ...

I definitely like that report. Can't wait to see this team in action. Jackrabbit Extra does not appear to yet have coverage listed for basketball games. Any word on video coverage for Friday?

For all the other height/weight junkies they have updated the rosters on Gojacks. Interesting numbers.. The older guys are slimmin' down and the younger guys are beefin' up. And where's that Alaska coach that posted about Devine a while ago. You said he was 233 looking to be 250 by season. Devine is 217 !

Now the diehard fan would figure things like this out. lol
I wish I had his problem. I would take 217 and would gladly give him my 246 lbs. These young guys can really burn the energy. Some Honey and peanut butter sandwiches would do the trick I think. Years ago in LA I worked with a kid who was underweight and went to the Vic Tanney gyms to build his body and that's what was recommended in his case.
