    Re: 2013-2014 Season

I think this fan board is missing Nate more than the team will. This team will have more height and probably more depth, especially at the perimeter. The style of offense might have to be altered from last year to get those money shots under the basket or at the three-point line, but that's OK. Build court strategy around your current talent. Ball-handling ability seems to be the biggest question at this point. Three-point shooting and defense should be solid. That's a good starting point.
    This space for lease.

We'll see if we can replicate it this year.
RO, I apologize if you think I am claiming that we need to utilize that shot. That isn't the point I'm trying to make. The point I am getting at is we moved away from this offense due to a lack of post depth, and the ability to force multiple defenders to respect our bigs in the free throw circle area. There are plenty of ways to get higher percentage shots in this offense. Here is one example: http://coachingbetterbball.blogspot....ffense-is.html

          WE HAVE A BINGO!

Hey, let's face it, we're going to step down a notch at point guard this year (possible candidate for largest understatement of the year) but that doesn't mean we aren't going to be good at the point. Bittle takes good care of the ball, has good size and speed, and is a tremendous defender. It is going to be different without #3 out there.

This team is loaded with offensive weapons and will be much more balanced. That is a great thing. Expect early struggles getting used to each other but by conference time the Jacks are absolutely the team to beat.

My prediction is that this team will be better come tournament time than last year's team!

The team will miss Nate to be sure. But this team is well set up to be good in the post-Nate era. I expect growing pains but I fully expect an excellent season. I think it will be fun to watch this team develop.

It is good news that we will play the 2013-14 year. The learning curve for most of the team should not be too steep with Nate gone. Remember that all those assists went to another Jackrabbit who made the basket. There were always 4 other players on the floor playing good defense and rebounding the ball. I would like to concur that this year's team still perform at a level to compete for the conference title and beyond. Go Jacks.

The season tickets should be in the mail soon as I see they have all the times for the games on GoJacks.com now.

When do single game tickets go on-sale? I'm guessing reserved seats will probably be sold out already?

I thought TV said on his the Live Chat that Monday was when single game tickets go on sale. Yes you are correct most reserved are sold (only about 11 left from last look).

If Nagy ends up with a more than adequate point guard by the end of the year, no matter who it is, he may be working on his resume then also. IE. 3 straight Summit League titles = Bigger (and better?) things.

I think 2 of the things we will struggle with the most will be breaking the press and having someone who is willing to take the big shot on a consistent basis......end of game or even end of shot clock.

Some times I think the team got complacent with nate like let's just watch naters and he would just create something. Guys will know they have to keep working for a shot and I would guess coach would want dykstra or white first then carlson

Another thing I'm interested to see is what Krabbenhoft is going to bring to the team. At Wisconsin he was the hard-nosed, do-it-all guy...it'll be interesting to see how that translates into his coaching and our team.

That and defense would be fine not the offense though.

I would speculate that the players on this year's team will not be running a variation of the Princeton offense. We should see enough fresh legs to play a smothering defense, but I would think there is many scoring threats on this squad to average at least 70 points per game. I would be most surprised not to see a 8-9 man rotation. The load Nate carried on offense will need more hands to carry this year.
